I met a boy with the sun in his eyes and the sky on his hair and a brain far more elaborate than anyone could compare
But this boy and I were never meant to be,
For he was the golden land and I was the gloomy sea
And every time we touched, we would have to part again,
And I was in love
full of tidal waves and hurricanes
But all I ever did was flood him
Destroying houses and shattering window panes
The waves churn inside my entire body
Calm and collected, smooth sailing
I wasn't always the sea, I used to be a girl
But one day I told myself
"I will always carry a torch for you."
but you were the one who set me on fire
And I became the gloomy sea to avoid the flames
But sometimes at night
When the moon glows against the black
I can still feel the phantom burning in my chest

Love!               vs              Love?

I love you!                      I love you?
It's true, I do!                 It's true, I do
Wonder why?              Wonder why;
You love me too!          You love me too?

Remember when life was simple,
When lunch was all you thought,
When playing on the playground,
Soothed all your sores,
When rain meant an adventure,
And sun meant so much more,
When the friends you had were countless,
Or the hours with no bore?

Now life is oh so dull,
Nothing soothes the pain,
Rain means working harder,
And sun is all the same,
You have no one left beside you,
Hours seem to fly,
Childhood didn't appeal then,
And now you can't wait to die...
Someone once told me
That words are nothing
And shouldn't hurt you
The way the punches do,
That words have no power
In relation to physical violence,
At the face of bullying.

Someone once told me
That words have the power
To change the world,
That they are more powerful
Than wars and acts of destruction
At the face of peace.

Who was bullshitting me?
Comment below on what you think :) help me un-confuse myself!
In the depths of the soul
I would like to be a better man
for ants,
for passer-by,
for daisies.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to be the brightest beacon
for my astray soul,
for my troubled mind,
for my amblyopic eyes.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to be the purest form of love
to appreciate the beauty of the world,
to reconcile with an old friend,
to awaken in others simple needs of the heart.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to become a ray of hope
to discover the meaning of forgiveness,
to have a better taste of coffee in the morning,
to experience a long farewell.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to find answers to your questions
about love,
about God,
about Universe.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to get far away from here
to find myself amidst worries,
to subdue my own weakness,
to breathe a sigh of relief.

In the depths of the soul
I would like to become everything
that's admirable for your eyes
to possess Unity,
to possess your soul
forever.
Living in the light,
wanting to shine but
the darkness floods my
heart and mind

Everyday fighting, battling
looking to find the rays
that will help light my way.
Before I speak, you have already tore
me down.
Whether its my clothes, that are worn
and old.
Eyes glancing to my tattoos, calling me
trash in your mind.
Finally my looks, overweight and plain,
far from the standards that you hold.
I am more than what you see..but with
every glance, a piece of who I am shatters.
I promise to be kind every day that follows today,
I promise to stay by your side no matter what happens,
I promise to take you to dance every friday night,
I promise to sing the songs I wrote for you,
I promise I'll do anything to make you stay,
I promise to give you all the love you need,
I promise that you'll always be able to cry on my shoulder,
I promise to fall asleep in your arms,
I promise to kiss your cheek, your nose and your neck,
I promise to warm you up if your cold,
I promise to kiss you in your sleep,
I promise to make you smile all day, every day
I promise to kiss you under the rain,
I promise to write poems about how much I care for you,
I promise to travel everywhere with you by my side,
I promise to slowly carress your cheek,
I promise to bring you to the top of the Eiffel tower,
I promise to share everything I own,
I promise to tell you you're beautiful every day,
I promise to hold you in my arms and close my eyes,
I promise to make you laugh if you're feeling low,
I promise to believe in our love,
I promise to fight for it,
I promise I'll be the best girlfriend you've ever had,

I promise you happiness for the rest of your life.
my mother used to mow our lawn
in her bikini  -bandeau top-
black with pink polka dots,
and black shades.

her toned olive skin covered in sweat
that dripped down to her
lime green, grass stained mowin' shoes.

grass clippings stuck to her sweaty legs
that walked to the porch
so she could stand in the shade a second
and swig sweet tea.

maybe stare at the house across the street.

at least twice that i know of
mom gathered up some of my sister and i's
clothes and toys, then asked a friend for
some of the same from her two little boys.

she cinched all the gifts together one night
for that family across the street
who had a lot of kids and pets
and not enough to eat~
this doesn't feel done, but oh well. i'm impatient. :)
