It's  raining.
What  a  lovely  morning
after  all  that  sun.
The  Mallard  ducks  are  out.
I  can  breathe  again..
It  became  too  warm.

Your words flourish like a flower before my eyes
Oh, poet, dear poet, is there an end to the sweetness you bring forth
Now share those endless rhymes with me
Let the essence of your heart through your words live on in my head forever
I've been reading some awesome poems on here and they inspired this spontaneous piece. This is dedicated to all the poets on this site. Keep writing!
__ grant me the serenity
to forgive all my enemies

grant me the courage,
and the strength
to never take another drink

I need some of your wisdom,
too
to never lose my faith in you

I'll carve your name upon my wrist
to make sure that I don't forget

but I've no cash
for more tattoos
so Sharpie will just have to do

a simple stripe,
a simple band
a couple dots across my hand

so to the world,
it's plain to see
that you have left your mark on me

and you may think it's kinda odd
that this prayer doesn't mention God

I put my faith in something real
the most profound thing I can feel

there's no one I would place above
the one I'm always thinking of
To someone who has pulled me from the edge a lot more times than I can count. Who believed in me when no one else did, and the constant reminder that I am not alone. In you I have found my higher power.
Obsessive love doesn't
give an inch
it can shake you
break you
make you flinch

Aged three score and ten

The old man walked

Onwards and upwards

laborious and slow

to the foothills of the Himalayas

Once there seated quiet

Amid the hush

His aging mind wandered

The collective unconscious

Letting go of earthly need

Intuition planted a seed

He prayed for wisdom, love and peace

All the earthbound wars to cease

His spirit soared

With shoals of souls

Awash in roar and flow

Then he saw the passing of time

watched his body age and decline

Learned that though we may come

From a different place

We are all connected through the human race

Then felt his body at one with a tree

As the cherry blossom fell gracefully

From nowhere

Like motes in the air

Notes begin to appear

Ethereal to the eye

Soft as the sigh

Of breath upon your face

Gliding over your senses

You feel their touch

Origin unknown.

Whether a force of rage

Or state of grace

For a time

You each occupy the same space.

Words can touch your heart

Or destroy your soul,

Obliterate your being

Or leave you whole,

And though the author

You cannot see

You get to know them intimately.

Though the origin of the author

Is often unknown

When words are shared

Your not alone.

gray rain
the acts of one can **** another
one man and a gun killed someones brother,
someones sister, someones lover

one bullet leaves them dead
the blood they bled
left the ground stained red

they will be remembered for what another had done
by the actions of only one
with the power of a gun
The US need tighter gun laws so cowardly people can not **** people for being themselves. It's sad to see so many people be lost in such a tragic way. Two shootings and one attempted shooting in two days should not be acceptable.
Lucid dreaming is the doorway
        to the unconscious.
So dream.
Do not stay closed
        behind cement barricades
        blocking the moon
        from shining.
Live.
Each second is for you.
The tumbling of life
         does not promise
            anything.
In one breath
you can have
        a time table
        handed to you.
A distinct framework
        of how much
        longer you shall be.
Stay in illusion.
Keep in mind
that very little
is worthy of
being screamed about.
Politics
        and
people games
        are not
         the substance
        of existing.
Picture colourful images
         that flutter
          playfully
            across the
           mental horizon.
A traffic light
      will
       blink
red, yellow, green.
A noise
        will dominate
         the shading sky.
These mean nothing.
Moments of distraction
        soon
         gone away.
Focus on fantasy.
Allow yourself
the freedom to
         celebrate
        the essence
        of harmony.
When you die,
       it will be
         your dreams
         that are
          remembered.
Breathe.
It's just
      a bad day,
      not a bad life.
