Alone is usually when it happens
Violent and hard hitting
Loud and strong
Like being alone helps ease the tension
I rush to wipe every drop
To keep the floors dry
But it doesn't stop
All efforts useless to stop the flood gates pouring
Through these swollen sleep-deprived eyes
It feels like it'll always be like this

It is a slight sip at first.
Wetting the tongue and
Soothing the throat.

But soon you are taking big gulps,
Forcing yourself to choke down the frustration
That tries to push its way past your throat.

Now you are drowning
In an ocean of your virtue.
Stomach bloated from
All your long-suffering.

"Have you had your fill yet?"
They'll ask you.
"No, no, there's always room for more."

I'm older now,
And the drink is far too bitter.
It tastes of pain and anger and sadness.
I don't think I could manage a single sip.

She speaks in clouds,

her curves drink lost
words.

Her dress entrances.

This marketplace so full
of colour,

many fragrances merge.

I watch her dance with
gypsy jazz tones.

Olive skin and dark hair.

She beckons me forth, to
a flaming beauty.

With her clouds I
merge.

Bright appearance
Blue eyes
All those little lies

Treating me like nothing
Sometimes there
Acting like you care

Maybe you do
I know you’re not here anymore
And with that let me say
I no longer mourn
He conquered her mind
It was the friendliest invasion
In the history of mankind
Chemical warfare
With the natural drugs
Kindness, patience, and love
Intoxication
Via kisses and hugs
disturbed and maladapted
heart blasted, near a flat-line desert
perturbed, in tangled bed sheet
dreading: door knock echos,
societal ceilings, stumbling debt, Greco

frame hangs with still-life memory
clinging to truth's unstable outcomes
alive and kicking, six-legged pants
lares and penates to morning's mutation
maudlin and weary of mammon

Some child of mine
Or one of their children
Has left a cup of dirt
With a sprout 🌱
Now, I am the keeper of the sprout
Which needs a bigger cup
It’s looking unhealthy
Bigger cup acquired
Lots of attention
I dapple water to simulate rain
And even bring it to sit outside in the air and the sun
The sprout is happy
It got left with me
Failed relationships
Never saw one that
Wasn’t incredibly painful
To someone
Or someones
Most people hold on too long
In this society that loves disposable
We often refuse to throw away
That which hurts us
Every day

as long as there are colours
given by the sun
as long as the darkness
covers our goodbyes
when forever's the promise
but now is not in time
and you're trying to change
whithout it to last
I'll love you tonight, tomorrow and in every other sky's reborn
