The Eel

Sitting on a rotten branch,
Two birds site the evil eel,
Terrified with a fright feel,
Slam! Came the branch,
Dead was the eel,
In excitement both posed a deal,
To enjoy their humongous meal...

If you cracked me open, would you watch me bleed?
When you cut through my disguise, what do you see?
Will you leave me alone, to wilt and wither away,
Or will you save the bloom to last another day?

So this means I'm gonna kiss the sky
And I'm gonna kiss the ground

Which means I'm gonna kiss the grass
and I'm gonna kiss the dirt

And before I'm through, I'm even gonna
Be kissing Sesame Street's Mr. Bert

And then, Big Bird, Ernie, and Elmo, too
And Count von Count, cause he's cool
Lol

Sesame Street is popular with children
and adults, too

Lost in conversation at a party
with a friendly person
I ended up almost tardy
but the event was worth it

This woman older than myself
had lost her youngest son
He had a bout with depression
and used his father's gun

A teen that never listens
comes with the territory
Blamed herself for doing the same,
called it her "horror story"

A touch of blue hit her face
as she remembered his smile
Her hands continued to shake;
they had been for a while

It got me thinking quite a bit
of what we leave behind,
be they achievements or kin,
by them we are defined

We tell the world of our struggles
with words and demonstration
and teach the kids how to live,
preventing devastation

Our legacy will continue
past their life expectancy
and through the passage of time
raise their dependency

The stench of death is rotten,
but still our biggest fear to date
is living life to the fullest,
yet remaining forgotten

And not to mention
raising sons and daughters;
we do our very best to keep them
from the guns and slaughter

Living in the here and now,
ever considered a future
where your experience today
will tutor newer users?

So* leave your mark - *be it poetry, melodies,
artistry, pedigree, even guiding infancy or
serving in an infantry, believe in your legacy
You're remembered infinitely.

Love me but don't hate me,
Cuddle me but don't strangle me,

Break me but don't leave me,
Trash me but don't throw me,

I give you my world, don't reject it,
My love for you is deep, I don't regret it,

Why have you changed adapting psychotic nature?
Do you have a clue of our coming future?

What future is there, you took it all,
Wired my neck like an ugly doll,

Eyes wide open gasping for freedom,
Life became short, you forced me off your kingdom,

I begged for love, future and life,
You stabbed me with your favorite knife,

Stabbed and strangled, you showed me your love,
Such an agony, you carved my face like a dove,

Laying lifeless in my own pool of blood,
He's painting on canvas using drips of my blood...

Nighttide

It is easy to love and laugh under the sun.
It is at night when the challenge will come.
The sun's rays keep the darkness at bay
But what's to protect you at the end of the day?
When the darkness consumes your world?
When your thoughts begin to spin and swirl?
The stars shine both cold and bright,
Bathing my moonburnt tears in earthereal light.
The moon turns my skin to marble and glass
And the ground I walk on turns to ash.
Such crule beauty that does reside
When the dark makes the light subside.
