The lavender pie he swiped from the tables
gave way to many creating tall fables

they ran down the corridor, looking for more
giggling and romping until they were sore

running through the library and lush gardens proper
leaving behind nothing but messes to topper

he and his friends saw no end in sight
until one of the staff gave them a terrible fright

"you'll leave The Gem Hotel with nothing but haste
before I send for the constable to come and lambaste"

it seems peering eyes had thrown things awry
when the dishwasher had seen him pilfer the pie

they hid in a room, large and ornate
so large in fact, they could not berate
as the echoes of the mob could be heard from their gait
their fates to be held by a simple-something they ate

the friction was taught, so tight it could tear
until one of them noticed a phone behind a chair

"quickly, I have a plan" he said and rung the front desk
ring
"we bewail our actions, were nothing but pests"
"meet us out front and we'll put this to rest"
"How will we know this isn't a test to best?"
"I'll be in the window with no other guests"
clink

So he stood in the 2nd story window with defiant disruption
as the crowd who had gathered went into full bore eruption

cheers and wails a mixed bag of admiration
as rumors of the scamps had swirled from the situation

his friends slipped outside as he looked up at the sky
"All of this over a little purple pie?"

This is a poem built from a book I'm writing called lavender. The story takes place in a grand hotel and follows the misadventures of a motley crew.

As a family we left
pulled
we had sun
she had the isle of bottles
the house had games
her break was short
pier lights and the sunset were coming
surrounded by plastic delivery crates
the view was brilliant
we took a long hard breath
as a family
we took our last long breath
as a family we left

The sludge was thick, the rain was heavy
His laughter, maniacal, rasp with levy

Smug, the broad tree's rustle and whir
Demon's of the night wrestle and purr

He sweat's
         Cry's
             Fight's
                  With pain
Scream's frantically into the night, at the back of his wain.

This man was sickly stuck

He slumped to the floor at the back of his coach,
As death leered down, to the quivering roach.

Best this man, be the one that quickened his route, and never gave up In his head's pursuit, but Instead lay In the mud while the world pulls him In.

You are too young
You are too old
You are shy
You are too bold

He thought of the ode
To himself as he sung
I am too old
I am too young

He climbed to the top
All knew his wail
I will not falter
I will not fail

From way up here
I think I'll have fun
I can move all the stars
And spit out the sun

All had sent word
Unpleasantly sung
You are too old
You are too young

Don't be sad
I'm not gone, I'm here
Just promise me you'll be there, and everything will be fine.

A real man stands
Firm on two feet
to stop the wrongs
Or to free up a seat

I hope you stand
Whether man or not
Stand and be strong
Stand for all who cannot

I'll stand for you
And always will
When you have fallen
When nobody will

Love is not yelling at me when I plead for your help
Love is knowing me
I have learned things from you
I know how to be a good person
People can turn to me
A teacher and a father
You have stopped
Where I will keep working
I will love

My grand expressions
Halt by your calm demeanor
My subtle tones
Tread your wayside
My tangled thoughts
Dissolve in your timbre
You are.
