One day
your parents
will put you down
and never, ever
pick you up again.

I am a hawk without wings
flying above  trees.
Salty wind hits my face;
I smile.

The land beneath me sings
bounty and beautiful scenes.
I gaze
It passes me by.

I am left to stare.
No thoughts to spare
deafened
by my haste.

My smile fades,
the time is neigh.
I descend
and clear my mind.

The helicopter hits
I feel the thud
First our packs
Then our guns

The roar amplifies
then fades away.
No longer am I a hawk.
Now I am a snake.
Hey guys it has been a hot minute since I last wrote a poem. Its been a crazy and hectic 2 years for me and I have accomplished alot, however it has not left me alot of time to think. I'm not really feeling the flow like I use to but I'm sure I'll warm back up once I pop a few more of these out and pick it back up... needless to say... I'm BACK (-&

I've spent some time in daydreams
Surrounded by lavish things
Materials that bling bling
But they won't make me queen.
Don's bottled stars
Won't take me far from the reasons why I need the drink.
A better whiskey, a finer wine
Won't free me from my minds confines.
When sober slips in through shadows black
And opens curtains to blinding light,
My truest self, the honest fact
Runs trembling away in fright
Replace diamonds, then, with ice cubes
And let my wealth melt away
I've only obtained nothing
For it was all empty anyway.
And when I greet the crashing shores
Of the Pacific at my best,
I'll be standing there in the ****
Not dreaming of the flesh

When you crash into the depths of hell
It's only natural that
You scream, you cry, you hurt,
You burn.

And it's only natural
That it takes you awhile
To get used to the flames licking
Around your feet,
As you finally admit defeat.
It's only natural
That it take you a while,
To learn how to smile,
As you burn around the edges
And sometimes your very core.
It's only natural
That you cannot walk before you crawl
And that you cannot fly
Unless you risk the fall
Risk it all.

It's only natural that
As much as it scolds, eventually
You'll learn how to handle the heat
That you'll adjust and trust
Eventually you'll get used to the pain
And learn how to sustain and attain
Normality again,
As you take one step and then another
As you learn to
Place one foot in front of the other
Walking with the scars
You thought would never heal.
It's only natural, to hurt, to feel,
That's what makes us human,
What makes us real.
