In the great akashic records
Where mankind's secrets are kept
Is recorded every word spoken
Every tear wept

It is a timeless record
Of every sound uttered
Every love given
Every hateful word muttered

It keeps track of every soul created
All the lives past
Things that are forever
Things that do not last

It is the collective unconsious
Of every living thing
All that is real
And everything dreamed

Some have given name to it
As the great book of life
Where the creators record
Every good deed, and all our strife

Know that in our lives
Everything matters
Every deed is recorded in a book
And the pages, will never tatter

Our world is crumbling
Falling apart
Losing its will to live
People having disregard
Lost respect
And forgetting how to give
Oceans laced with
Bottles and trash
Forests and playgrounds too
The world walks by
With blinders on
Never smiling too
We’ve lost our hope
We’ve lost our love
We are fighting just to survive
Trying to find a glimpse
of what it used to mean -
to be alive
we’ve forgotten our souls
our reasons to live
we hide behind our masks
pushing away the world around
focusing on our tasks
Forgetting all who are in need
Turning a blind eye
Selfishly hoarding all we can
Until the day we die
You cannot take it with you
Your treasures turn to rust
Or end up in a trash pile
And your memories turn to dust
You leave behind no legacy
Of good and kindness and love
Of lending out a helping hand
In life you fell short of
Remembering why
We were given this life
It isn’t about your things
The question that will be asked of you
Is what did you do for Me?
How did you help another
When their confidence was down?
How did you help bring light
To a person with a frown?
How did you clothe the naked?
Or feed the hungry, and hurt?
How did you show My love
To those who were out of work?
Or did you spend your life
In anger
Blaming the world for your fate
Spreading sickness, telling lies
Burying your soul in hate?
It is your choice
On how you live
And what you wish to leave
How will you be remembered my friend
What kind of life will you weave?

This world is a
walking place
surrounded by
a million faces
eyes that don't
recognize
your sighs,
hands that never
touch the shoulders
or the mind
That's the Glory of Love

Challenges everywhere
every failure and
success
spoken into darkened
hallways,
the music's playing
in another room
another house
another bed
That's the Glory of Love

When the body's in pain
the couch so hard
No position works
no encouraging words,
a purse or a nurse
they won't work
That's the Glory of Love

A tender touch
in a tender place
warmth and light
in this cold place
a moment of peace
when held so close,
a heartfelt giving
a heartfelt receiving
two hearts beating
singing
in perfect harmony
That's the Glory of Love.
"The Glory of Love " was written by Billy Hill and recorded by Benny Goodman in 1936, it has had many covers, including the Five Keys in 1951, Peggy Lee, Otis Redding, Bette Midler.  This poem uses the title, but doesn't have anything else in common.

Rapunzoll
this is not a death-wish
this is a resurrection.
on nights, you grow
weary of the sound of
your own breathing,
there is a fierce sun
burning inside you,
you must use it to grow,
not to scorch all you have.
you have tender hands,
why do you use them
to peel away your
conscious?
there is a thunder in
that insipid heart of yours,
go, forage it out.
For a friend.

Love is like driftwood
coming and going
with the tide

Love is a hurt animal
breaking the quiet
of the night

Love is like smoke
through a spiderweb
hard to hold onto

Love is pleasure, love is pain
like sunshine and rain.

A tragic tradition from times long past
Weak of wit and hard of heart
Thus pawns are born and
Circumstance plays its part

Here we stand again, aghast
Alas, what evil has come to pass!
Questions burn, anger rises
Vengeance brews on the horizon

The world has turned for years and years
On violence and wars, and bitter tears
You build - they break, you smile - they’re fake
Injustice reigns in misfortune’s wake
Struggle for some, victory for others
Caps are waved with fair-weather feathers

Who are they, who are we?
Who is safe, who is free?
Where is the heart that knows no fear?
Where is the mind that’s always clear?

An ephemeral world, a passing phase
The old, the new
The false, the true
A blink of an eye in eternity’s gaze

Yet weak-minded malignancies
Must ply their trade of misery
Dispensed with as refuse in this life
****** as bartered souls in the next
Fate’s hand is heavy and dark is the night
For the vicious heart and feeble intellect.

On this earth I've wandered
For nearly a thousand years
I'm tired, nothing new
Nothing left to fear
People always ask
Where they've seen my face
Well, a portrait of me does hang
In a museum in Paris place
And another in London,
Beautifully framed with grace
In Paris, my own selfportrait
With my little girl, you see
I was then known as Madame
Elizabeth Vigre Labrun
That was my favorite time, back in 1783
Then again I was painted as "Circe"
By Sir Edward Burne-Jones
That was the year 1880
God rest Sir Edwards bones
By the year 1919
When all the world was at war
I set sail for America
To see what else time had in store
I've changed my name and place
Hundreds of thousands of times
The only things that have stayed the same
Are my loves, art and rhyme
I decided on the name Amanda
To use in this day and age
I try so hard to fit into this modern book
My worn and tattered page

The tie is in
There are several ferries
Standing still here
I think of grandpa
And how much
He would've loved this

I think of all
The sunny after noons
I sat here with Esther
Before she got cancer
At the age of 17
Survived it, she did
But she never laughed
Like she used to

The platform is up
As tie comes in
The water covers
The words spelled out
Across the stream
At low tie, it would say
"Love"

Here we sat
And cried our
Youthfull tears away
Boys are still mean
But we're better equipped
And they're smarter too
Somewhat kinder
And we're milder

A smile of understanding
Appears as I watch
Flandria1 struggling
As the boy tries
to dock it here
It's not that easy
To move a vessel

A black bag floats by
And I wonder
What will it learn
Where is it's destination
And silently hope
That the city will scoop
It all out...

A passion was awoken
That could not be tamed,
And what once was a spark
Has now left such an ugly scar

Maybe,
It's one of the love trademarks
To build up a thing
Only to watch it fall apart

So fall not
For such foolery,
Magic, these days,
Is often trickery.

Fragile as a flower,
It will softly walk in,
Persistent as a ****,
It will never leave.

There is a fine line,
Between love and madness,
You're bound to cross
If you don't keep yourself in check

As light as a wing,
It can still make your heart sink,
As tempting is its invitation
The result might still be horrendous

And the worst of all,
A deathblow,
What if the leaving stars,
Take it all?

As concrete as the ocean tides,
lasting like a kid's attention,
To fall or to take a flight,
It's your and only your choice.
Conclusion: I think they are one.
