fast forward
to the year of 2050
all countries who
adopted the net zero target
in the year 2021
became failed nation states

their industries were decimated
their jobs disappeared
their people became beggars
oh yes and extinction
did visit upon them

the fanatical believers of global warming
such as Greta Thunberg and Joe Biden and Sir David Attenborough
wrought damage untold on every society
  
and the footnote
to this tale goes like this
they administered
but a death wish

the sword of Damocles
hung above his
head
and it suspended with
a very slender
thread

the sharp edged blade
did swing to and
fro
deciding at which time
his cranium would
go

though he is a man
in a powerful
position
nothing will save him from
the cold steel's
exhibition

sooner rather than later
we'll witness the sword's
drop
as it makes
the inevitable
chop

the webmaster is rarely if
ever seen at the
site
to fix things that aren't  
working quite
right

the writers send him emails
about items that need
repair
but he doesn't reply to them
nor seems to much
care

of its confines

no satisfactory answer
has been furnished yet
which looks mighty like the gatekeeper
will get off with a let

one theory that was recently
put forward
said the virus leaked out
of the lab's unsecured ward  

in years to come the veracity  
maybe revealed
but until then much seems
to be well concealed

expression  
never would it become
a prisoner of
repression
