No longer will you diminish my light
I'm soaring through the galaxies
The stars are at my fingertips
I'm finding my soul again
*I am triumphant
Nothing but joy

be ever gentle to thy words
treat them, your tools, well,
cleansing and protecting,
wrapping them in cloths of chamois and moleskin
that they may be well conditioned and
pour forth with a temperament clear and viscous,
reflecting their high honors and a noble lineage,
they are well-intentioned to exist far longer
than your meager temporal life,
upon this ever hasty, ever perpetual, orbit

give them all respect, their fair due,
they are treasure immeasurable,
for which you have been granted guardianship,
custody received from others to be gifted onwards,
yours, but for the duration

so oft we trifle words,
expel them from the country of our body,
without passport and earnestness,
as if they were the cheapest of footnote filler,
day tourists, to be treated as leavings,
refuse for daily discardation,
barely noting their fast comings and faster disappearance,
but leaving not, a mark of distinction

more truffle than trifle,
find them in the dark forest of your life,
use them sparingly, just for soaring,
take them from the roots of your trees,
shave them with a paring knife,
counts them in bites and measure them in grams,
even in grains,
for words are the seasoning of our lives,
agent provacateurs that can modify the moment,
bringing out to the fore
the flavor of the underlying

speak them slow and distinct,
for they arrive slow to you,
a trickling of refugees for your sheltering,
harbor them as full companions,
protected by natural law,
provision them well,
prepared and ever ready for a quick departure,
moor them at the embarcadero,
for the next restless leg of endlessness,
which they themselves will inform you
will last longer than eternity,
long after there are no humans to speak them

born from the brilliant blue
   of northern skies
it found a way
   through shiny eyes
straight to my heart

an instant passion grew
unfolded into years
   of anxious virtual meetings
times spent in harmony
as well as strife, support, and care

days of wild ecstasy
   followed despair and alienation
closeness and distance
   took their turns
and more than once
what was to be the final cut
grew back to bloom again

over the years
love has grown more sedate
but not less tense
   at times perhaps more painful

but still as true
as on that day
when in the sun of northern skies
it found its way
   through brilliant eyes
straight to my heart

Anger, one of the worst rival of human.
Anger, one of the best motivating force.
Both sides leads to destruction,
One single moment and end of the healthy reputation.
So, self control is the best companion.

In this world we live in, people live.  Just simply live.
In this world we live in, people die.
People die.

Is it more complicated to live than it is to die?
Or isn't the complication of dying, leaving everyone else behind?

What if you woke up tomorrow, only to find yourself dead?
How complicated would that be?
What about your mother, sitting by your bedside, waiting to hug you again?
What about your best friend, dreaming of the day he could talk to you again?
What about your siblings, that are too young to understand but will have to grow up the rest of their lives without you?
What about you. Is it so complicated to simply live? Or simply die?

In this world we live in, people die.
Simply die.

POEM 68*

The curtain dances the breeze
through the window
chasing the sun slowly
across the wall
until it highlights your face.
You begin to stir,
one eye opens
as your hand
reaches over to
where my heart is racing
toward good bumps.
You move closer,
place your head on my shoulder
and return to sleep,
as a dream’s smile
covers your lips.
~~~
I have always loved
watching you sleep;
your breast rising,
falling
to the song
only you sing.
~~~
This song,
the one that wakes me
to the morning sun,
that carries me through the day,
is also the song
that now eludes me,
shatters my hopefulness
and carves shadows
all through my heart.
~~~
Every morning,
as the curtain dances
the Autumn breeze
and the sun climbs my wall,
I wonder,
why have you gone?
Will I ever hear from you again?
With your hands
Held aloft
And passion blazing in your eyes,
Your voice resonates
In an empty room
For the audience
Strain to hear
The whispers from the shadows.
And the applause
Echoing in your ears
Is merely a work of fiction.
Those who shout loudest
Will be the first
To lose their voice.
Listen, it's a beautiful thing
when distilled to its essence;
reduced to its purest form.
A paradox and a paradigm;
a paragon of perfection.
Epic in its arythmetic
progression; poetic.
Like Chinese arithmetic,
so hard it hurts. Yet soft
and exquisite, like a bubble
of love caught in a beating heart.
That place where poetry starts.
Pining for a love that never was,
I listen to the crooning voices of jazz.
Boy, you made me tumble, you made me fall,
I lay at night dreaming of lips that never met.
Pining for you, I'm sad and lonely,
This are the autumn's blues of such life.
The orange leaves outside fall,
my rain in autumn.
The wind howls through the night,
forlorn whispers of your name.
I'm pining for you,
you who made me tumble, who made me fall,
I'm a leave on the winds of autumn,
Boy, I'm howling for you tonight.
Fall, autumn
My relation with her
inhabits a silent space,
you don't need to talk much
below the ocean's surface,
it's like a rest after your work is done
an earned breather after a long run.
Now it's holding hands and swimming together
having seen all the weather.
There were times
I believed the lines
Of songs that said
There was love for me
Hoped that there was
Some happy family
That wouldn’t dare
Strike me
But would care
And accept me
There were times
When I wrapped myself up in
The illusions
Of religion
Thinking
Perhaps hoping
That god would stop the pain
Coping with the strain
Of trying to sustain
A positive personality
There were times
When dreams
Could carry me on
When anger made me strong
And I still had some hope
There were times
I knew my mind
Knew who I was
But the world spins
Times keep changing
And the old me
I don’t know him
I’m just a strange river
That keeps flowing
Sometimes shrinking
Other times growing
But never stopping
Just going and going
Wherever the times take me
