All can be lost when nations divide
It can lead to the loss of this thing called faith
We take a chance on staying alive
But it all could end in a world of hate.
When seeing people living on the street
Arms reaching out with empty plates
Struggling each day to make ends meet
Where the poverty net decides there fate.
And then we see the rich and the famous
They are making it big and living a dream
Even those dreams can often be aimless
For fame and fortune is not what it seems.
Our minds can turn to empty thoughts
And dought it seems are the seeds we sow
We often ignore what religion has tought
Saying tell us just how do we know.?
Dought creeps in our minds once more
Making our hopes to lose its flow
Now there's no goal to be aiming for
And their is no place for us to go
This is a hypothetical poem
A lot of folk I know look at all the wars
And poverty and Homeless and say
If there is a god why doesn't he stop all of this
Hence we can often feel their is no hope.
Not all of us feel this way it's just how some of us may feel
Some will say mankind brings it on himself.
Just a thought I wish not to offend anyone.
We all have a view point.

Find someone to love that you treasure
Someone who makes you feel the weather
Touch the sand
Close your eyes and listen to the waves
Someone to hold you when you cry
Someone to be there when you want to just run away and hide
To kiss you and convince you it'll be alright
A treasured love
One like no other
Where the love is all around
One you can see
Doesn't need to be served with an
I love you
Simply just a shared glanced
That brings comfort and care
Shows that they are there
A delicate touch
That lingers
The small things mean everything
Bring her flowers and sing
Write her letters and take a knee
For she is everything to me
I will treasure her for eternity

The most profound words
Throughout history
To me:
And maybe to you:
"Forgive them, Father
They know not what they do"

A dash of hope can change the world
A sprinkling of kindness can lift broken spirits
A pint of compassion can bring waves of happiness
A pinch of love can re-ignite a life

But none of this is possible without a spoonful of optimism
I know I called this how to change the world but take it with a pinch of salt

Walking along the beach,
a lone surfer prepares for
his battle with the Atlantic ocean.
Waves, thick and heavy from
bitter cold and climate change.

A rush of momentary fear and oxygen
courses densely through his veins as he
paddles out to the 9 foot walls swelling
with tremendous energy and power and
crashing overhead, the surfer searches for
solace in the silence beneath the wave.

Blasts of slushy water numb his face,
rejoicing at the crispness of outside air
reminding him how it feels to be alive
in the moment, patiently positioning himself
to catch that one, perfect wave.

His body numb from freezing salt water
seeping into his wetsuit sends shivers
forcing every ounce of energy to the forefront
as the zenith of his performance comes with
thick, frothy wave charging behind him.

He drops in to the face of the mountain of water
chasing him through the thumping tube,
pumping through the barrel, gaining speed for his exit,
he shoots through the gap and coasts to shore.

Never looking back, always forward with smile wide,
heart full, body drained and temporary enlightenment, he ponders
"it was another successful surf session,"
as he drives off toward the
setting summer sun.
dedicated to the brave surfers shredding blizzard conditions in the middle of winter

Brother, can you spare a dime?
Have some pity for the poor
You are lucky, don’t you see?
But you are blind.
And though you look to
Find our woes,
You do not see,
You do not care,
You do not know.
You are lucky, but to that
You’re blind.
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Words
Free to be spoken
Written down
Bent or broken
Encouraging
Feelings inside
Endorphin release
With a twist of the mind

Expressed
But seldom explained
Maps and mazes
Through the poetic brain
Meditatively rewarding
Each creation creates
But do beware
Words are but keys
That open floodgates
