Golden branches, being heard
Second chances, singing birds
Fields of flowers, holding hands
Longer hours, pale white sand
Crunchy leaves, thoughts out loud
Hearts on sleeves, silver clouds
Brighter smiles, open skies
Light for miles, starry eyes
Yesterday's tomorow, today's gone by
Shared not borrowed, the wingless fly
That's what I'd see, if dreams came true
That's where I'd be, there with you

Night Flyer
We meet again one dreamy night
Of emerald green on midnight's shore
Warm waves reflected in the light
Of silver moon forevermore.

I listen to your soaring voice
That echoes cross the sapphire waves
And causes my heart to rejoice
For music of the sea, it craves.

In this Aegean dream, we play
This magic beach of windswept sand
In pale moonlight, we've lost our way
Here where the ocean meets the land.

Sweet Mari Ann, your poet ways
Through endless dunes, you lead me on
Way past the rocks, lost in a daze
Enraptured by your mermaid song.
This poem talks about the sea and my good friend Mari Ann. She is a kindred spirit to me, being a song writer, singer, poet and artist. We spent many years together. Now, sadly, she is a resident of a nursing home in Miami and I am living in Massachusetts.

Why is it
That every time
A boy shows me kindness
I can't stop my mind
from going
a million miles a second.

He will say
A simple thought
And my heart swells
An inch bigger
With each syllable
Said without any
Actual emotion.

I'm starting to think
That my ribs are breaking,
That my sternum
Will burst
The next time
He breathes.

Grandpa, tell me about the good old days
I want to hear of your younger ways

When there was no T.V. and there were no cars
When at night you looked up and could count the stars

About how you skipped stones across the lake
With no video games to entertain

What's all this about fun being free?
All this old I hear sure is new to me

Did people really sit and talk?
And where they went did they actually walk?

How did you survive without a microwave?
I bet cooking then must have taken days

You say your parents let you just run about
Were they not afraid you would be kidnapped?

And you didn't come home till dinner time?
Grandpa to me that just doesn't seem right

Did Moms and Dads really stay together
like they promised, till death do us part?

Cause they don't do that that much anymore
and it can really mess up some hearts

Did you talk much with your neighbors
even though you lived miles apart?

Cause mine are living right next door
and I don't even know who they are

You say there weren't warning labels on everything
How in the world did you feel safe back then

And without a cell phone in your hand
How did you keep up with all your friends

Grandpa, did you not ever get bored
Chasing down the wind in the great outdoors

And you say you had everything that you could need
All this old I hear sure is new to me

Simpleton
Sometimes there comes a time
When losses are absorbed
And grief becomes you
When you've given everything you've got
And there's nothing left
Not even the will to care
When you received nothing in return
You continued to give because you never learn
And when you rub your eyes
No more are the stars and colours you used to see
It's been a long time since
You bowed your head
Said a prayer
And are still weathering the storm
Now only heavier
Because you've soaked up the rain
And carried a little piece of everyone's secrets
Burdens and shames
You were there when it all went wrong
And now you're barefoot
On a cold winters night
Where the lines between determination
And desperation got blurred
Left craving for something that is everything to hold onto
You are so much more than what other people see
Your strength will not come from lifting weights
But lifting yourself as you fall down
Fighting hell
And wearing it like an armour
I spent last night a' wandering
I roamed across the earth
Through meadows green
and cities gray
To try and find my worth

I asked the twinkling starlight,
beseeched the roaring sea
I begged the rugged mountainside
for any sign of me

I ran through threatening shadows
and basked in brightest sun
yet my heart remained elusive
and my soul remained undone

Then when the dawn awoke me
with it's dazzling newborn hue,
I found my worth within your heart
and wrote these words for you.
Life is what you make of it.
It is who you love,
And who you hate.
its how you live it.Its how you want it to be.
The question is what you want to do with it?
If you was to take it
I would cry 'cause
well...
I kinda.....
well
I love you.....
I was scared to admit it
But now.
I'm not
And I don't care who knows!
I'm proud of it!
Wrote part of it when I was 10 but the rest I just wanted to recreate it.....

Remember me whenever you’re blue
Remember me when there’s no one holding you
Any time you feel like you can’t make it through
Remember me and I will be with you

Remember me whenever you’re afraid
And when you lose your dreams along the way
Any time you feel like you can’t make it through
Remember me and I will be with you

Every night and every day I’ll be by your side
Just reach out and take my hand... I'll be your guide
And any time you feel like you can’t make it through
Remember me and I will be with you

Remember me whenever you’re afraid
Remember me if there’s someone in my place
Any time you feel like you can’t make it through
Remember me and I will be with you

Remember me
When the color of the sunset fills the sky
Remember me
When you pray and tears of joy fall from your eyes.

Remember me as I was
Happy, alive holding no grudge
Remember me in a good life
Remember me as a good wife.

Because even when you can't make it through
I'll be there for you.

Just... Remember me.
