I’m scared of touching you.
Of putting my lips on yours,
And tasting the truth.
I’m scared of holding your hand,
And that you’ll never let go.
I’m scared of getting too close,
And not being able to back out.
I’m scared of letting you love me,
And that maybe I’ll love you back.
I’m glad you trust me,
But please stop telling secrets.
Don’t whisper in my ear,
Don’t sing my favorite songs.
I’m trying to make you stop,
Stop the spread your disease.
Disease people call love,
Love I’ll never know.
Knowing how to love is an art,
Art no Mozart could draw.
Draw me closer and you’ll see,
See my bad sides and my truth.
Truth you just can’t bear,
Bear to hear from me.
Me, myself and I,
I think that’s all I have.
Have been like that for ever,
Ever and ever I’d like to keep.
Keep me close but far away,
Away from love, from it all.
All that comes with hiving hugs,
Hugs that hold no meaning.
Means that I don’t want you
You to want me back.
Back is where I want to go,
Go where I felt safe.
Safe and sound sounds good to me,
Me, myself and I.
I like the sound of that.
That’s the way I want it.
That’s how I belong.
Please don’t hold my hand,
Please don’t hold my heart.
I like you how you are,
You like me how I am.
Let’s not change that right now.
I like where I belong.
I’m scared of changing the alphabet,
Putting U right next to I.
It would mess up absolutely everything.
Me, Myself, and I.
I like the sound of that.

Shy girl with a secret
Silently scanning the room
I think I'll go over and try talking to you

Do you mind if I penetrate through your wall of silence?
I can regale you with the minutiae of cinema and science

Play the fool to make you smile
I don't believe I've ever seen one finer
I'm almost ashamed of how badly
I want to be inside her

Can I buy you a drink?
Then we can talk of desire
But no amount of spirits
Will put out this fire

The night's winding down; now where shall we go?
You play with your hair, and say "I don't know."

Shy girl with a secret
Quietly plotting my doom
I should have known better than to have spoken with you
Its  a real life R&J; her and me
that's Romeo and Juliet don't you see?
minus the suicide of course, but true all the same
its fate and destiny that I blame
her as a Capulet, the majestic Juliet
I, the Montague, Romeo, no regret
Theres the suitor first, Paris who had his chance
This princess of a lifetime and he only offered one dance
no wonder she left him, the arrogant ***
did he really have a chance, that boy had no class.
I stole her heart with just a look, what's that say for me?
charmed i'm sure, but I'm just that **** lucky
to take her hand in just three days, lucky lucky me
she had my heart with a gesture, me happily
obliging to her every command
after all, I'm a gentleman
I have no time for swag
after all, yolo makes me gag

You ****** all the air out of my head,
making me dizzy, spinning
until I feel almost dead,
and that's just the beginning.

The shaking starts at the tips
of my fingers and my toes
then spreads to my lips
until on my whole body it shows.

I'm gasping as my body falls apart,
since you tied my stomach in a knot,
which swings around and bruises my heart.
My chest soon becomes boiling hot.

What do I do, what have I become?
Tears are rolling down my face.
Luckily, a good friend stops by
to give me a relieving embrace.

brooke
he has an interesting
laugh and likes ******
contact to express his
happiness, he's a bit
lost and I don't think
he knows how much
I care for him, how
I think there's far
more to him than
dope and college
and that white
'yolo' he got
tatted across
his wrist.

I kinda fell for a boy
A college photographer
He was funny, very smart
Made life seem like art
He was my kinda thing
Filled me to the brink
With poems and drinks
He made my heart sink
His humor made me laugh
His face made me smile
His hugs made me giggle
****, I was in trouble
I fell, heart n'all
His eyes said it all
Boy, he was fine
Prettier than a dime
Oh hell, he was good
Playing on his guitar
But even better when
He gently used his hands
He made me feel inspired
Even when drained and tired
He could love me all night long
And I'd still carry on
He got me very hooked
His stare made me weak
We had a love affair
And made love over there
The first time was precious
He showered me with kisses
He became obsessed
And ****, so did I
I fell hard for the man
He helped me carry on
I really wanted to
But couldn't thank you
Unless in the bedroom
This is so personal
Like under those sheets
Where he held me down
To the bed, that drunken night
He had his hands all on me
Cuddled me when I was lonely
He was my best friend
And more when
We needed affection
We needed love
And attention
We became
Inseparable
It's been that way
Ever since then.

Wrote this a few months ago and never posted it, until now. Always liked this one.
The albatross once filled the skies
Cormorants watched silent, from the shore
These are echoes of times long ago
There's nothing here for them any more

The coastline littered with sunken ships
Villages full of ghosts
Empty buildings and empty lives
Where just the sea gulls act as hosts

Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out past the breakers and out to the sea
Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out on the Ocean, where my soul is set free

The cod stocks have dwindled
There was no need to stay
There's no catch of the day, son
From here to Gaspe'

The canneries shuttered
The landscape has changed
I may be a sailor
But, my life's rearranged

Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out past the breakers and out to the sea
Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out on the Ocean, where my soul is set free

The Grand Banks are empty
Our boats are in hock
There's nothing that grows here
Except depression and rock

While others moved onward
I'll stay 'till I'm dead
Now, I feed off the tourists
I work the casinos instead

Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out past the breakers and out to the sea
Oceans away lads, Oceans away
Out on the Ocean, where my soul is set free

The salt air still calls me
The wind in my sails
The sound of the rigging
Heading off to Kinsale

The coastline is empty
Where Ghost towns now stand
It used to be vibrant
But now just sea grass and sand

Oceans Away Lads, Oceans Away
On out past the breakers, and out to the see
Oceans away lads, Oceans Away
I still am a sailor, and I always will be
