My poems rarely trend
Guess I'm not a trend-setter

I sometimes hide behind my poems
Like a shadow does the night
But some of you have found me out
In all my wrongs, in all my writes

You seem to know what I'm all about
Behind this mask of rhyme I use
When at times it tends to suffocate
With the subjects that I choose

Still you might wonder at my reason
I try and hide behind the write
With the face of truth in hot pursuit
Pulling false layers off my real side

Soon to be the poet naked
A poets heart exposed to all
No longer concerned with the way life burns
In the stand or in the fall

We are the here and now
All it is that we're aloud
The moment before we are found out
The silver lining in the 9th cloud

We are the moment come
Long before the moment gone
The stage that life is danced upon
The smile that's never known a frown

We are the sitting calm
In the middle of the raging storm
In life's chill we are the warmth
The time that is forever known

We are the brightest leaves
Hanging from the tallest trees
The furthest point that you can see
All we can carry, all we can bring

That is what we both live to be
And you...you are all I need

Maybe I remind you, of the love you once had
Maybe I remind you, how vulnerable you once were,
Maybe I remind you, of things you forgot you could feel,
Maybe I remind you, of a wound you thought had healed,
Maybe I remind you, of the pain you ignore,
Maybe I remind you, of the insanity you escape,
Maybe I remind you,
Maybe I remind you, of everything you want to forget,
Maybe I remind you, of an old regret,
Maybe I remind you,
You are human
