Poetry is so much
more
than many people think it is.
It is
the place
where the battleground of light and dark
makes its  finest stand..

or most pathetic fall.

Yep
been in there and out there
been almost where I should have gone
ah
some things are not meant to be
like me for instance.

I see you looking at her
I wish you were looking like this at me
The ring is on my finger
But I feel like it shouldn’t be here

Her eyes like water, blinded your eyes
Have you forgotten our youthful time?
Standing in front of her, but on the side
In her eyes I see not emerald
But your greyish sight
Inspired by Fearless by Lauren Roberts
I am wilted. I am weary.
I am weathered. I am worn.
I am stuffed with seeping sadness, and stewed in sticky, seething scorn.

I am deflated. Thoughts debunked.
And I am drowned in desperate dread.
When I soak my roots in water, I find it dries them out instead.

I am wilted. I am weary.
I am wilted. I am worn.
This has many versions. This is the pillar.
Silence
is wisdom
unexpressed
in its own rightful place

I can not think of you without a smile

I wait for your call

But in vain

You are nowhere to be found.

The forgotten book—
a dusty shelf, tucked away,
had so much to say.
Writer's Digest Poetry Prompt PAD Challenge of the day, "Write a book poem." I wrote this about finding/coming back to/making time for one's own creativity. Even in small, but purposeful ways. Writing is important to me and even within the busyness of my own world, it's necessary for me to make some time, each week, to do the things I enjoy doing.
