Watching the news
is like peering into hell.

I turn off the television
and smile in peace.

If you listen really closely
You might just hear God
whispering in the wind

daphne
and when i told him
just how beautiful he was
tossing a pomegranate seed in the air
and catching it gracefully
between his rose-coloured lips
it seems the pomegranate juice
had temporarily stained his pale cheeks

Oh, infinitely beautiful girl
you are not alone

she wrote with
scarlet lipstick on her mirror

But words alone
don't
change hearts

and she was infinitely
unhappy

cursed

doomed

All the boys and men
said yes
to her

but her brother still
said no

there have been
too many fights lately

she was a
musician
and she put it as,
“Darling, we need to change
the tune.”

He was a
writer
and he shot her

and then himself

Bethinking

The blossom

The flourish

Hitherto the withering

One backward glance

Time ravages beauty

Testing to see if this post gets seen or just disappears into thin air...
So many poems from other writers not showing up on my stream page.

A Slow Heyoka
Persona bends
Tree branches
In seasons spent

Some bloom at dawn
Some break in storms
But that tree stands tall with friends

Her and higher education:

Those narrow walls

That building
with too many stares

All the talk about climbing
up the flagpole

Just to see
what goes up

And what comes down

It was so much easier
when they just wanted

To carry her books
Note: The placement of stares, and not stairs, is intentional. It is not a typo.
