I did not compare you to anyone
You have loved me
So I have loved you
I did not feel someone like you
You have felt me
So I have felt you.

You are the ocean full of love
I am some waves, on...
You are the sky full of stars
I am the silver moon
I did not think of anyone like you
You have loved me
So I have loved you.

To get your adoration and love
My mind wants to go
Into your heart
What's this feeling in you?
You have loved me
So I have loved you.

I am the garden full of love
You’re its beautiful flower
I'll enjoy your smell forever
I do not miss anyone like you
You have loved me
So I have loved you.

The cold wind
it called me in
and wrapped around me
like the bow of sin.
We walked for miles and shed our mistakes
it's funny how much can happen
in one heartbreak.
We met the wise man that told us what we already knew
the secrets of this world
were not secret to me and you.
Dropped to the ground and kissed his feet
I begged for him to save me from this defeat
and he said he would
he only knew how
a lesson can be learnt in the here and now.
The cold wind
it let me go
it unwrapped quickly and dropped off like a bow.

As we sit,
side by side,
our hands,
interlocked,
your head softly pressed,
on my shoulder,
our journey,
how I wished,
would last a lifetime,
for this moment,
blissful,
sensational,
is ours.

I like to think of myself as the moon,
and you as the sea,
each night I would stay,
staring at your beauty,
serenading you with songs of love and romance,
keeping you company,
bringing you warmth against the cold cold night,
how exulting must it be,
to have each other for company.

Your whole being is poetry,
from the way you talk,
the way you walk,
the way your lips,
form wrinkles,
each time you smile,
from your deafening silence,
to your soft voice,
poetry,
when you put your arms around me,
bringing me warmth,
against my cold, melancholic body,
when you hold my hand,
making me feel less lonesome,
making the moment grand,
you're poetry,
complex yet subtle,
defined yet undefined,
and I'm just a hopeless poet,
hopelessly trying to decipher,
hopelessly trying to write,
the ambiguous,
you.
uhhmmm hi! I'm new to this community and I would very much appreciate your criticism on my writing.

Pen, please!

Mike Hauser had a brilliant idea to “Pass the pen” and see where it got us.  This, Friends, is the result.

I write of the stars
I write of the moon
I write of the things
That I love to do
I write of the lies
While telling the truth
And when I am through
I pass the pen to you

I read the things
that went before
and add my thoughts
for you to write more
of things we love
and things we hate
so here's the pen,
now contemplate!

I wait like a kid
the anticipation
breaks my quiet
like a train in station
with thoughts
pouring out
like the traveling weary
so here's the pen
"now what's my hurry?"

While looking at this
And studying that
As our poetic peruse
Comes up to bat
With much more in store
From the writer's’ knack
I jot down my last line
Then pass the pen back

and now it get's fun
with my lines and yours
at least it keeps me
from doing my chores!
fingers be nimble
brain be quick
I finished this part
now here's the Bic.

With words tattered and torn
I have you here to mend
Don’t know where I’m going
Brain lights on dim
With little or no warning
Here it comes again
All on a whim
I hand you the pen

*so who will care
if we make no sense
“these poets here
must have the bends!”
but all the same
we’ve had our yen
it was a good run
let's retire the pen
Thanks Mike!  That was fun.  Now maybe some of you can grab a buddy and see what happens.  To put this in context, all the stanzas went round in under an hour.  A dizzying frenzy.
feeling the walls close in
the cold consuming your very soul
distant and cold
refusing any comfort
why are you still here?
who made your self worth so low?
the cracks between your aching heart
can't take another blow
the haunting
the lonely
the wonderers of night
causing fright
tear yourself apart
let your insides rot
fragile creature
terrified of the night.

If there was a poem that could save us both,
I'd write it in a single stroke,
If it needed I'd use my blood,
And fall down dead once I was done,
But such a hope cannot be so,
Our choices made us long ago,
Words can truly change the world,
But cannot change the past, my girl.
