The Other Side
Henry Mich Jan 2018
A broken tree bearing fruit
Hidden beneath a crumbling home,
Where a dead man sits in a rotted chair,
Breathing in quiet gasps.

Like flowers in Spring
Henry Mich Jan 2018
Catching sunlight in my hands,
Burned and scarred by searing brands.
While cherry petals fill the air,
My joy, a diamond a brightly burning flare.
I cradle my meager golden prize,
And lift the gilded treasure to my eyes.
To see the memories I have made
Over lost years and forgotten days.
A spark catching in my heart an unquenchable blaze.
A light through the endless dark of life

From My Brokenness
Henry Mich Jan 2018
You, a monster, you're not really human.
People feel compassion-
Do you even know what that is?
Is it just another thing you think doesn't exist?
You walk, you talk, you laugh, you smile, but I know what's behind your eyes.
When you take from this world another part of me dies.
I hate you with every bone in my body, every part of my soul.
Life is not a toy to be taken and tossed-
My life, his life, her life,  gone.
Left a shell, a broken vessel abandoned for the carrion crows.
But now I see standing is this mirror hating the monster for what it did.
While knowing when my angel died,
The monster was laughing deep inside.
Hesitantly I pick up the knife
For the the angel’s sake I will take its life.

Living for just a moment
Henry Mich Jan 2018
To die
Kiss life goodbye
A fatal waltz with death
Run feet and wings afire until
You burn.

Insanity
Henry Mich Jan 2018
Trapped in this floating glass mountain of a box
Unable to see out despite a thousand eyes
This is insanity
This my broken reality
Light shrieking as they streak across the sky
The screaming voices whisper
A life lived only in the light is not a life
My shadow hates me I hear him plotting
Always watching and following
I’m running chased by a lie that tells a truth i do not with to hear
I pass the door again and again but I cannot leave
The sheep languished blue trains suffer
Windows books dogs hands run
Take sharpness filling soda cans
This is insanity

Tears
Henry Mich Jan 2018
A spring forms a river,
Far from the sea,
The water starts to flow
I smile, because I know,
This river is meant for me.

The spring is the ocean,
A deep crystal blue
surrounding, drowning me
Then falling off, into eternity
I have not forgotten you.

The river is salt
But gives life to a tree,
That tree is my heart
Let the river depart
Then walk with me.

Through life to death
Let’s start anew
Dry your tears
And discard your fears
I will never leave you
