Do you ever wonder what you could've been?
Do you ever wonder what you could've seen?
Do you ever wonder to come clean?
Do you see what I mean?
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
High on demand,
Less in supply.
During these crazy times, it's common to lose hope and be down. Everyone is on the same boat, and trust me; this will all end soon and we will be victorious.
Hmu if you need a friend ❤
Stay strong and safe!

Love,
Harshi.

How can I warn you to be safe?
How can I hold your hand?
How can I bid goodbye through a wooden case?
4 years ago, I lost my grandmother to cancer.
This poem and an article on my blog is a tribute to the strongest lady I know.

Head over to my blog to read it!

It's a crazy time where everyone is losing loved ones.
You're not alone. Let's win this battle together.
Love, Harshi.

Add three cups of Brilliance,
and three cups of Knowledge.
Mix two cups of Conceptual Information
And stir like a porridge.
That makes an average teacher.

Great teachers
Have a sprinkle of sparkling presence,
A bag full of passion to teach
A jug of compassion and love to students
The ability to help them face fears
Accept weaknesses
And harness strengths.

Great teachers, in short, are just like parents.
All through this year, my life has been an absolute rollercoaster. With the help of my amazing parents and the help of the greatest teacher, Lawrence Sir, I was able to come out of it. The dedication he has is unfathomable. Everyday however tired he is, he has a smile and a sparkle to teach. He has wiped my tears and mended my ways.
No poem can match the presence of him in my life, and I am so grateful for that.
I am what I am because of him and my family whose support is a blessing.
May everyone be blessed with a Lawrence Sir in their lives.
Because he is a fine teacher and a brilliant man.

You've hurt me,
More than immortals do to beings.
I was hurt when I set you free,
But I learnt from my dad that it's good to have feelings.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
Dear harshi,

I miss you, girl.
The REAL you.
Your smile,
Which illuminates my whole day.
Your eyes,
Which reflect your brightness,
Your presence,
Which dims the rest of the world.

Where did you go Harshi?
Why have you compromised?
It's time to love me,
Embrace me,
My flaws,
And give me all your time.

I miss you, Harshi.
Hope you come back soon.

Love,
Harshi.
Sometimes we forget who we truly are, truly were. Don't lose the innocence and true you, because the biggest favour to yourself is being YOU.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
Your insults
are just like
petrol
to my
gleaming
firey
personality.

Your insults
don't break me.
they make me stronger.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
Look me in the eyes
look if you dare
tell me all your lies
and ask me if I care.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
Life was once a grandfather clock.
Tik
Tik
Tik

Somewhere down the line, everything changed. So much so that now it's just

Tik tok.

Like a diamond
she shone amongst all.

But just like a diamond
devouring her
would only do them
more harm.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
The world's moral compass
has gone awry.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
Love and Death
are actually a couple.
Both steal hearts,
Both take away breaths,
yet
Love breathes new life.
Death gives a portal to an afterlife.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
I wish we could go back to
the naïve age where
we would drink milk,
leave the Milk-Foam Mustaches,
and laugh ourselves silly.
Is it just me, or did everyone else drink their milk just to have a white mustache?! Oh, those were the days...
Harshitha Girish May 2020
When I'm afraid
your warm hands envelope me.
When I'm happy
your smile brightens me.
When I think of someone I love
your image comes before me.
Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful mothers out there.
You make us proud 💙
Harshitha Girish Jun 2020
I was the Sun,
For I shone by myself,
brightly.

You were the Moon,
For you eclipsed
My brightness.
Been long since I came here (:
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
We could eat at places,
which are fancy-shmancy,
But you see,
From a mother's hand, even rice,
Is super nice.
It brings smiles on faces.

This is just so silly. *shakes head*

Today the clouds were grey and dark
So suiting my damp mood
But then came along a ray of sunshine
From far far away.

And this is how nature reminds me
Every single day
No matter how grey your days are
There's always a ray of sunshine to look forward to.
Don't lose hope, my friends!
Harshitha Girish Jun 2020
I was an open book

But he was illiterate.
Never could read between the lines.

"you're not a perfect girl"

Yeah,
She wasn't a perfect girl.
Not according to the society, atleast.
No makeup, no short clothing...that's imperfect, right?
Aren't girls perfect the way they are?
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
He loved me.
He loves me not.
I was once a flower,
But he let me rot.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
She was a Phoenix.
She blazed like a fire,
And rose from her ashes.
And when she rose,
The world fell at her knees.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
I wrote poetry to forget you;
But why does it hurt me further?
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
When we're in love,
we dream
and daydream
smile
and giggle
to ourselves.

When we're in heartbreak,
we write
some things
we wish we
could've told them.
And that,
my friends,
is poetry.

Poetry is the language of pain.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
May we never ever
take life for granted again.

What is it like being a Quarenteen
in Quarentine?
Hey guys! So I have started a week long blogging series called "Quarenteen" where I talk about issues which need to be stressed upon- like the whole pandemic panic, enemy drama, and so much more that a high school student would face. Be sure to drop a comment and check it out!

I swear it's been three decades since
I actually saw the outer world.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
She was like an Elvis Presley record.
Slow.
Charismatic.
Blissfully beautiful.
Like a ray of sunlight within his dark heart.
She was the record,
constantly running in his veins.
A record
He would never stop.

"Why I married your dad?"
sighed my mom.

"Well, I decided I wanted to annoy him for the rest of my life"
she added with a smile.

Though my dad had his back turned, I could swear I saw him smile too.
This is true love, I guess =)
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
Her hair was like the clouds
     Unkept and curly
Her eyes were like a dream.
Her smile was the type anyone would fall for
            With dimples so deep

Her attitude was kinda sassy
       She put people off
But she was just this kind
         Which everyone adored.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
She was like Christmas.
A surprise.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
Shooting stars are just
small aeroplanes.
Glimmering lights of hope
and promises.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
Shh....
Don't utter a word.
Let the silence talk.
Whenever you are working towards something big, I always advice people not to shout out their process. It just sows seeds of jealousy. When you receive success, the whole world knows. But if you talk about your work before it is achieved, when it fails, people will for sure push you down.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
I giggled at the bees,
and whispered to the flowers,
Nature always gave me the heebie-jeebies.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
He thought he was immortal,
until her smile
killed him.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
He was a snack,
but she didn't have an appetite
for him.

I am bottled in my home to be safe.
Just like my feelings.
Been having a lot to deal with. The best therapy for such heartbreaks is family.
Be back within a week x

Please be safe, maintain distance, wash or sanitise hands frequently. Lets keep the world and ourselves safe.

Love, harshi x

There are 82 "Thunders" in the song "Thunder".
Be productive, they said.
Do something you feel good about, they said.
Don't be lazy, they said.
Okay then.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
I've never realised,
that I can laugh as hard
with my family,
just like I do with my friends.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
I gaze, at the empty sky,
dotted with birds here and there,
I breathe the fresh air...
It's like the trees afar are waving at me,
The sun is winking.
I've never appreciated nature this much.
As COVID-19 spreads, people are locked in their homes...and nature is regaining its place.
Celebrating Mother Earth, and her stunning wonders.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
I watched an age old movie with my parents.
I don't remember the joke, but once we started laughing, it was hard to stop.

We would stop, look at each other, and then laugh again.
Our stomachs ached, not of hunger, but of laughter.

I want these times to last forever.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
My room has never looked so clean,
And today, I have all the time
To chase that unfinished dream.
I never knew my dad could sing
Until we sang together to his favourite song,
This social distancing
Has given me one brilliant thing
My family.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
So many unfinished dreams in these eyes,
So many tears; so many cries.
I wonder about how life has gone...
Will my eyes ever see dawn?
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
Everyone thought she was the
icing on the cake.

Little did they know
she was the sparklers you put
on the cake.
To all the fiery and dangerous women. I wouldn't mess with them if i were you!
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
She didn't get her children the stars they asked for.
She educated them and made them fly to the constellations
They always dreamed of.
My mother is an angel. She never gave us all we asked for. She made us work for it. As a result, my sibling and I always work for something. Today, we realise our mother's words are true, and nothing in life comes easy.
You have to earn rewards.
A tribute to my mother, who works hard for me everyday....

It keeps you guessing so much,
So stay tuned for mine!

You think
my sympathy
is a smoothie
you can just stir?

Eh, no.
Harshitha Girish Apr 2020
"What would you do if you were locked up in a house for months together?"

I would catch up on movies I missed because of my busy life,
I would make new and long-lasting friends,
I would think about what to do next in life,
I would eat all I crave for; maybe even learn to make them,
I would grow beautiful plants,
Maybe try out some yoga,
I would call my parents, my friends, my relatives, and catch up on their lives,
I would stop chasing love, and start chasing the person I want to be,
I would work out and maybe be fit and strong,
I would learn to live simple
I would learn to live,
to get out of the rat race,

I would learn to appreciate
I would learn to never take things for granted.
Instead of complaining lets enjoy this time!
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
I've seen a thousand pages,
thousand letters,
thousand stars,
thousand tears,
thousand birds.

But I feel complete upon
seeing my first
thousand views.
***. A thousand people.  A THOUSAND!
My latest poem, "Chess" got a thousand views, and I didn't expect it at all.
Thank you so much, for everyone. You make my day, and it just keeps me going.
Love, harshi <3
