There was an army of ants in the plastic plants
So I poured light through a magnifying glass
And I created a fire on the artificial grass

They scurried and hurried
with flames on their backs
Like soldiers on a hopeless plain,
searching for invisible barracks

And I sighed as they died,
because we are all the same:
Scurrying and hurrying from invisible pain

Demons in a sound mind
overtake the peace and need to be
free from nightly terrors
and from imprisoned memories
Here they come with gnashing teeth
and dancing waves of fiery rage
rewriting drama into horror
while taking center stage
Disrupting calming shades of gray
with an abruptly forceful wind
erasing pleasant waves of grace
replacing the good within
Awake in madness too deep to cure
dig nails into your skull and weep
there is no just for the living
and there is none for those who sleep
I've been having hellish nightmares lately. They are just awful.

Stuck inside a dark room
I'm dying for a breath of air
I'm not letting myself out

I want everyone to know my secrets
yet I can't open my mouth

when they look inside my eyes i want them to feel my pain
yet I avert my gaze to the ground

I want to stand up to all my demons
yet I don't have the strength to get out of this haze

your love makes me want to eat my own flesh because i can't wash your fingerprints off my skin

i would've done anything for you
and i was like that jacket i bought for you
that you hung up and never wore again

you can't create a graveyard in my memories and not expect the biggest, boldest headstone and i'd rather chisel my eyes out than see your crooked teeth glaring at me and you know what? i'd wrap them in exquisite packaging and address it to you sincerely with a note attached that read "enclosed are all the visions i ever had of you and i"

i'd be like vincent van gogh
he had the right idea

We should stop falling in love
with our dreams and ideas and thoughts
of the things we truly desire.

We get disappointed about the things we expect
but, goodness, we have no clue about what they really are.

We should stop changing ourselves
and turning into the characters
we've watched from romance films.

We crave the kind of love they have,
but, goodness, those are not real.

We should stop searching
for whoever's meant for us
if we'll only leave people with broken hearts.

We hope to find who's best for us
but, oh my goodness, we abandon hearts & souls for our next try.

We should stop living
in movie scenes that create
false hope inside our haunted minds.

We wish to exist in fairytale
but, oh my Dear, there are no fairy godmothers here.

Because, Dear,
There may be (or may not be) someone to save you.
There may be (or may not be) someone who always understands
There may be (or may not be) someone who'll be there
And there may be (or may not be) a happy ending.

Yes, there always may be, but there may not be, too.

*(And I'm sorry)
