The ocean calls for my departure
don't mourn these waves
I was destined to return just like King Arthur

Scribbled words on our skin
invisible ink tells of prophecies
and all the lives that have not been

Pulled the sword from the stone
Naive to think that we'd be crowned
but rather released an angry storm

These stories speak of hate and resentment
it flows much more effortlessly
so much pain in trying to be sentient

Still I will not give in to bitterness
I wait for the storm to pass
to return to sea and drown in bliss

When I was small,
I picked out an Aquaman action figure
Out of a bin at the secondhand store
He was missing a leg
Most of the paint worn off at his joints
But he was brand new to me
And what my mother could afford
I made up a story
About how his enemies had hurt him
How he'd defeated them
Became stronger
Was world reknowned for his powers
I loved him and this love fixed his brokenness
One perspective change made all the difference
I am like this.
Not broken, just reimagined.

I love you
Pretty amazing mantra you see
But what does it mean
We all have ideas of what love is
That's  why we create  songs about it
That's why the heart flatters when the one say it to us
Our mind fetching  from it's Databases of ideas of love how it should be
Thinking this is it Love has arrived
But am sorry love Logic gets the best of me most times
The ideas fade on quick
No love is not supposed to hurt like this
Love does not lack a spark like this
Love is not Lust
Love is not this suicidal
So someone please tell me
How does it feel like to love
Let's see if your ideas of it fade quick
Being young well the ideas of love could be simply naive. I  often wonder how it feels like to feel love,to give love and be loved. I mean that kind of love that has everyone singing about the one that got away, that love of a mother and daughter  that love that makes 100 year old couples to still be all over each other. How does love survive time, negative emotions like jealousy and a ******* of one person's anxiety him/her and the partner. I guess it's work it takes work I mean but really how does it fell like to love

Just for a second
Can we go back
To the ways of our youth

Just for a second
Can guys and girls
Sit around and just talk
Without any ****** tension
Permeating the air

Can we just be content
With listening to one another
Diving deeper and deeper
Into conversations
That are so deep and complex
A Milky Way feels threatened

Can I just smile
Genuinely smile
Not one that twists my lips upwards
And reaches my eyes
But with my soul
Without having another
Mistake my kindness
For anything more
Than it is

Just for a second
Can I stop having to analyze
Another's actions
Or my own
In fear of rejection
Or misinterpretation

Just for a second
Can we go back
To the ways of our youth
To simplicity
To authenticity
Back to when
I was just a girl
And you were just a boy
Without hormones or society
Affecting our interactions
Back to the ways of our youth
I miss innocent conversations and interactions that don't involve anything other than the words that come from another's mouth and their actions because innocence masks a lot of things.

It's hard to talk about it to happy people
With pretty sounds of poetry
Or talk about it at all, really

'Cause how could you put in words
The science of "sad girl" warnings
Or that feeling of regret
That I woke up this morning

Honestly, I just wanted to feel nothing
In spite of this sick espirit

A disphoria so ingrained in the flesh,
Only death could set you free.
