it's a shame
that we cannot
appreciate
what others have
without comparison
word: shame

i am sorry that the world looks down
on your skin
on the darkness of it
calling it ugly
unsightly
i am sorry
for the comrades you've lost
(mothers fathers sisters brothers
innocents)

i am sorry that
people shame you for
the color of your skin
as if you can do something about it
as if it were a curse
when all it does is symbolize
the strength
the tenacity of your people

i am sorry that society
breathes down on your necks
burns your fingers
whips your backs
i am so sorry so sorry
for everything
but please, dont lose hope

the dark circles under my eyes
are the windows to my soul
i drop to my knees and cry to the sky
Lord help me out of this hole

i try fighting my own demise
starting to lose all control
when God denies my desperate cries
i only fall further below
pray for me

There are some creatures that hide at night
they are under the sea, they stay within
they know your name
they are beautiful, they are immense
they subserve, they jump above walls
they do swim, throughout the sea depths
but they are not friendly
they are man's bestfriends
they are also his killers

Some creatures stay within the sea beneath the sea at night, but walk seductively at day to capture men, Man will pay the price for his lustful thoughts.

in this age of modern wonders
a new outflow of ideas thunders
and lo and behold before too long
we assume new names *****-nilly:
@david and so on and so forth
a name for my facebook timeline
where i tag such strange people as
motherless, yesterdaychild, rude,
sweetness, jawbreaker and so on
i have other names in numerical form
my mobile number, my atm card number,
passport, national identity card, social security
and medaid number; and when i pass on
i shall be an anonymous number on a grave
no-one will remember me or any of my antics
and i shall dissipate in the profusion of identities
