Have you ever had a moment
When the rain is pouring down
And it showers down upon you
With such a frightful sound

And then there is the moment
when you go beneath a bridge
And everything is quiet
And goes silent for a smidge

And though it seems a second
In that moment, there is more
More sighs and much more silence
Then you've ever felt before

And it feels that in that moment
The whole world takes a breath
You forget all of your sorrows
All ills, all tears, and deaths

And if only for a heartbeat
The world-it stands so still
And you feel your hands go clammy
And it sends o'er you a chill

Yes, in that bless-ed silence
It puts your heart at peace
You hope it stays forever
That it will never cease

Oh, but just as quickly as
The peaceful came to you
The moment takes on wings
Before you know it, it is through.

And how you mourn the loss
Of such a peaceful mo'
But if it happened all the time,
You wouldn't mourn it so.

No, some things are for only
A moment, just a chime
For people ruin lovely things
To mimic peaceful times

"her writing depresses me" he says

my voice quivers, falls up toward
space and crashes
down
against the sea-salt waves. my voice

s-s-s-stutters, repeats the first
syllable five times and once again
for an even six, repeats, repeats,
repeats. my voice is

quiet and every teacher i've
ever had calls on me with a
"speak up!" but no one ever
listens.

writing is the only voice i've ever known
you will not take that from me.
someone  told me this today when i was reciting a writing prompt in class; my thoughts on it are pretty clear.

Sometimes the sun is not heard,
The world is silent yet, is living
Cold, the moon stirs not even
As it is rising, the birds are mute
The trees and oceans are still
All things are pointed and dull.
I hear a lonesome hound baying
At the empty skies when clouds
Are covering with a smear of smoke.
Where are the words that are never
Said?  What light burns my eyes,
Darkening most at the days zenith?
What is the language for sanity?
Why is there no math, no translation
For the heart?

Sometimes the sun is missing
Or lost by a sea of tears raining
In collusion with the shifty earth,
Sometimes the numbering stars
Are merely zeros, the die casting
On the green and desperate table
Of the turning world.  Sometimes
The sun sinks early to the west
And the moon is trailing not far
Behind.

She sat at the edge of where the ocean ends
Saving starfish from thoughts of suicide
Catching them as they try to jump
Throwing them up to shine in moonless sky
Her tears unnoticed did always flow
With heartaches salty bitter taste
A serene smile she forever kept
Saving starfish at oceans end
Still she dreams of long lost shores
Of days before her heart did break
Of the memory of a simple touch
That lead to the night
Of loves long passions kiss
The life she once had
Before she found herself at oceans end
By following the starfish in her eyes

oh what a beauty fate has brought
oh what a tragedy faith has caused
crying and screaming and dying inside
because every human's made of lies
but every lover will find
their way back home
where they belong
opinions please!!

The cold is as sudden as a memory
Of something once forgotten
When the tide decides to drown
My aimlessly drifting self
I'll watch the blue light sift through in rays
For as far as can be seen
From the bottom of this tranquil sea

My teeth fire like machine guns
Rattling in my mouth two rows have begun
To battle, these goosebumped limbs will not behave
As they should do
Droplets of debris frantically scatter
My body an earthquake
My mind overcome by the waves

Until I have collapsed
Upon the burning sand
And I am glad I could not stand
I lay motionless upon the palm of God
A soft fire surrounding my very being
Like a warm blanket upon a winter's evening
The Sun's love massages my naked back
Like a helping hand
My only friend
I went to the beach today
