What once used to be my refuge
is now run down and forgotten.
What happened to my home?
Once it was warm and comforting
but now it is crumbling to pieces.
I sink to the floor,
crumbling.
Memories flash before my eyes,
my heart is clenching,
I'm lost.

Aaron Michael Brown
I wear pajamas
when I go to bed,
one button-up shirt
and drawstring pants
both the color of
light blue sky
they're a gift
from my Mom.
I feel complete
wearing them,
I'm ready to
fall asleep.
It's rare in this world
to ever feel so confident.
When I put on these pajamas
I'm a gentleman practicing
the art of
a good night's sleep,
call me Aaron no more,
only Mr. Brown for now on.
The Way out of my fear
is trusting the Good Shepherd.
One step at a time.
Only.
One.
Step.
Until my eyes are opened
to see I can trust Him.
He woos me with cords of His Love.
Into a place of rest.
A place of trust.

Yet another step.
And more trust comes.

The Way out of my fear
is trusting Jesus.
One step at a time.
Until beyond my fear...
Walking into my fear...
He shows me a blessing.
Hidden there.
He shows me the Gift.
The Glory.
When I face my fear.
One step.
At a time.
