I had forgotten
What it was like to feel loved
Until I met you
Green trees stand left and right
The sun shines so bright
Cars pass me by on the side
As I carry myself with my stride.

Beautiful doesn't appropriate the sight
As I look upon a greater,brighter light
The sun exudes a comforting glow
As I watch nature blossom and grow.

I could let go of everything I have known
Following the light I have been shown
To a world that finally shown me peace
A peace that settles and never cease.

I have not exhausted my happiness,
And there's no creation of a mess,
I have reached a point of being perfectly happy
And it can happen to you, as it has happened to me.
Tip-Toe cross the street
Dangerous cars moving fast
Weather full of storms
the glass in your hand is still
save a few nervous tremors
you sigh, and your exhale
is louder than the small voice of my
mother; all I can hear are tremors

you know, these glasses used to be your glasses
these plates were your plates
you used to stir these pots and pans
the weight of your absence hit me like a
freight train; like our situation

you are doing your best to be civil
which is what I find the saddest
don't you remember the terms of endearment
used fleetingly in red-cheeked encounters
whispered in expectant ears by foreign tongues

don't you remember the vows you took
the oath you pledged, every look

do you remember the life you had?

the difference between the casual touches of
your new life, and the cold rebuffal of the old
is striking me, to me

that is why I find it the saddest
years of mundane contentment and unassuming love
reduced to the void of careful distance and
cigarette ash; trying your best to be civil

Agrace
you can't understand
what you do to me
every glance clouds my mind

enthralled by the way
your lips say my name
with you i lose track
of all time

loving you is like breathing
your kisses like air
and i'm drowning

catching my tears
you pull me up
save me from the dark

holding me close
with you my heart sings
that's how i know
it's love
Her mind has become a tangle of webs.
Her memories fight against each other as she tries to recall her wedding dress.
Words mix and mingle as her grandchildren tell her about their day.
Past and present blur as her loved ones dance beside the lake.
She weeps and she frowns as she realises that she's not well.
She smiles as she bids her daughter farewell.
This is a poem I wrote about dementia.
Never let fear decide your future
Journey of dark night of your soul
It's where we learn who we are
Time won't make us forget but
We will grow and understand
Direction is more important than
Speed and love transcends time
