I fell in love with a blind poet
I fell in love with her eyes
they were as pretty as words
Oh, the light, she would write
reciting every line
though blind and couldn’t see
between verse and the rhyme
I swear, she’d see
right through me
Pour it.
Don't want to taste it
anymore.
Just pour it right
into my heart,
funnel it into my soul.
Flood me with it,
my head is swimming.
Pour it.
Vacuous vessel,
my body and mind.
Filled to the brim,
marinated and brined.
Sopped up.
Wrung out.
Pour it.
Pouring.
Down the spout.
The celestial forces drove us into each other's arms, but you used your earthly reasons to push me away.
Treat any the same
no matter what the race.
Despite what we chase,
why can't we chase away all racism?

(Chase for a better world)
Nothing like a cup of coffee to open my eyes
Watching the early sunrise
Hearing the annoying bird cries
Silently watching the blue skies
Dark, black and deep
Slowly pulling me away from sleep
In my throat, I let the hot liquid seep
Hearing the coffee machine go 'beep'
I wait for my energy to take a leap
So I can stop counting sheep
