From that distant contact I can see your smile,
Enjoying every sip of your wine,
Let me tell you I am the Jealous type,
Can't help it when you have enough boys to swipe,
You must like that guy from last time,
Behaving as if you found your partner in crime,
Let me clear this to you that you're mine,
Won't let you see other guys let alone dine,
Be with me is what I want,
But you always take me for grant,
I'll keep you entertained for life,
And eventually will make you my wife,
Whether you like it or not you have to be with me,
And accept the life's fate as it will be,
Don't call this life suffocating,
I have been long waiting,
What if you won't be doing your job again,
I'll earn for us, don't be in vain,
I would be the one doing all the things,
If it means cutting off your wings.
I hate jealousy,
I hate possession,
I 'm nobody's possession.

Shadow
Marvelous, matchless, magical, moonlit midnight,
With a superabundance of sparkly, summery stars,
Peacefully placid, pure and prettily plummy,
Radiantly rich, rhapsody resplendent rapture!
Fragrant flowers frolic freely in your fervence,
Eye-catching and exquisite in their exuberance,
Bouncing blissfully in breezy, blooming ballet.
Inexhaustible and intoxicating and intriguing,
Dazzling and delightful, and doubtlessly dreamy
So a girl challenged me to write a poem with alliteration and so I accepted the challenge, tell me what you guys think :)

Lemon VW Beetle
Pink and green Polo shirt seatcovers
Hippie flowers and surf shop stickers
And her Confirmation Rosary
glimmering in the fading light
She waves
“Call you later.”
The sunset is beautiful

PCH is busy this time of day
Surfers, commuters, tourists
and local kids, like us,
going our own ways
The sunset is beautiful.

Sirens pierce the twilight calm

There are conflicting reports
But
All include the words
Rollover.  Ejected.  Fatality.

Through my tears
I stare at the ocean
The sunset is beautiful
I remember

My heart is empty and cold
Its warmth drained one note at a time
By the music that has haunted me
Since…. that day.

Its major chords
Its tender melodies
Its painful, infectious happiness
Exsanguinate me

People say time heals

It doesn’t completely

Because scars,
Still tender to the music’s touch,
Never stop bleeding
Some songs stab you in the heart
and keep stabbing....

Please pray for the ill
Please pray for the hungry
Please pray for the terrified
Please pray for the vulnerable
Please pray for the unemployed
Please pray for the lonely and disenfranchised
Please pray for the Godless – they need it most.
Grant them peace....

You would find this donut
only at the day-old bakery
on the depressed side of town
On the bottom shelf
in the back

It’s unevenly frosted
With sprinkles tossed haphazardly around
It is neither appetizing nor revolting
It’s…
Confusing

It’s inviting and bitter

distasteful and captivating

complex and mundane

Moment to moment
Bite to bite

You can’t decide

Whether to try again

Or discard it forever
My bipolar mom became my responsibility when my parents divorced in my early 20s. She was a lot of work.
