She Will Rise
AmeriMav Jan 2019
Some things in life can be quite difficult
Fraught with barriers and oft times unkind
Pressing ahead unsure of good result
You can feel steps so unstable and blind
But, my love, in this your strength is defined
You keep moving on, though pain is not brief
You are bold, fierce, not a weak shaking leaf
In the storm I hear you shouting back loud
Your beautiful spirit begs no relief
Of you, my dear, I will ever be proud

Cherry Trees
AmeriMav Jan 2019
All my sweetest dreams are filled with you and I
Pouring it out every morning I find want
An ever growing desire and longing to go to
Lists mounting always higher of what I wish to do
To hold you in my arms, simply to be with
Journey every shadow just to find you
Hold your hand no matter what
Be it winter, summer, fall, or spring
Whatever the storm and sunshine does
As long as I know I shall be with
Topaz brown eyes, gaze of my love the
Smile, laughter, and your mouth of cherry
To kiss, embrace, sleep, and dream under the trees

Connection
AmeriMav Jan 2019
Sunrise, sunset, moonlight, and star
What are the things that we share?
Ideas, questions, some things bizarre
Is there a place where the east meets the west?
Music, poetry, strums of the guitar
Does the breath of my mouth touch your lips?
Smiles, laughter, things not kept in a jar
Are our dreams and desires a pair?
I know love counts not matter how far

Moonlight Fantasy
AmeriMav Jan 2019
In silver moonlight's soft and shimmering glow
Fine breeze did light upon the pine trees blow
Sweet music playing, floating, filled the air
And slowly, gently, warm began to grow

I staring, standing, hollow, lonesome there
Did start when chance I saw my lady fair
Then taking hands we two began to dance
With joyful smiles, spinning free of care

A wondrous night, a thrilling blithe romance
It felt so right it could not be by chance
Our hearts on fire that through our eyes did gleam
Locked on the other in happy tranquil trance

So caught was I, I clutched, was this a scheme
A foolish whim, a quaint delirious theme
But then I thought, "What matters why or how?"
"She's mine! I'd stay! I'd die within this dream

My Muse
AmeriMav Jan 2019
Inspiration runs from heart to head
Into my hands and onto page
To express the power evoked
A heat that builds even now
At the smallest thought
My lovely one

Lifelong
AmeriMav Jan 2019
This life is an adventure, and so we go
Across hot shifting sand or soft green park
Sometimes the going's fast, sometimes it's slow
At times much more like spinning in the dark
When does the story end, you never know
The music full of wolves and singing lark
But I am sure the dance would be more grand
If you, my dear, would always hold my hand

Mine
AmeriMav Jan 2019
Do you know how lovely you are?
Though often passing time seems to mar
Your beauty fires of life just unearth
Shining light behind every scar

Do you know the sum of your worth?
More precious than all of the jewels of the earth
An intricate, masterful, purposed design
Something unchanging in sorrow or mirth

Can't you see now, your exquisite and fine?
More eloquent than any fragrance or wine
This I will show you, each day that I can
And celebrate you, knowing this, you are mine

Winter's End
AmeriMav Jan 2019
The winter not a single leaf had left
It'd taken warmth and sun among the theft
Then left me in the bleak and dismal cold
Where color, light, and joy my life bereft

Then you appeared like fire and sparks of gold
Bearing heat of spring to me you strolled
And soft upon my heart a kiss you placed
You bid my eyes your beauty to behold

Awake my soul and body hot they raced
Your light and sultry form my arms embraced
And vowed that never the cold again I'd feel
Because your sun my winter has replaced
