Cné

It’s only a smudge in his eyes
A smear of lips on paper from skin
When apparent, meanings give rise
For it’s a lipstick kiss on a napkin

A longing for breathtaking kisses
She sends his way to imagine
of their lips in sensual caresses
with a simple kiss on a paper napkin

my first love was
in the right place at the wrong time
my second love was
in the right time at the wrong place
and you
my last love
i may not have met you yet
but you're still in my prayers

Philomena
Screen in hand I scroll past the pointless pictures
Until suddenly I see your face
You're smiling with the same dumb grin
Not a picture you've taken
You're probably not even aware it exists
Too caught up in the moment
You're surrounded by friends
People I used to call friends too once a long time ago
I can feel the tears build in my eyes
Even though I told myself I wouldn't cry over you
It's the end of an era that's for sure
Everything that was once mine here is gone

You will resurrect
from the ruins of memory
and speak in the deepest night to me:
all that had been was pure glory.

We will recollect
scenes that spoke of love's endless beauty
let the years flee as they must into every century
yet our hearts shall still be green and free.

Grey mirror
Is this the kind of love I deserve?
One weighs more than the other,
All I asked is "have I done you wrong?"
Your only reply, "I've learnt".
I'm worn out now
From all the unanswered queries.
I need to loosen this cord,
before the forbidden rage
Breaks free from its cage.
Have you experienced one sided love?
