I know my texts don't excite you anymore,
But you are polite enough to reply it anyway
And if I call you, you'll receive it too
But I know you cringe when you hear my voice
Just for the night , you needed me
Just for that one night
The night's already over
But I m not over you yet

I remember everything, so clearly in my head
How beautifully you sang, & I sang along with you
How you made me laugh, laugh & laugh so hard
How you held my hands & we tried to dance
How your lips blew life to my cold and dry spirit
How the butterflies in my stomach fluttered
How my cheeks turned crimson and I looked away
But you kept on staring at me
Like  you wanted to fall in love...

I did not undress my body that night,
I undressed my soul
I put it right in front you
Just in its purest form
I let you see me,
See all my imperfections
I told you all my fears,
The secrets I hid inside,
I thought this is it,
This is what I had been looking for,
My soul was happy
And thought it had found "THE ONE"

Little did I know, it was only for the night
Just for that one night
So tell me who do I blame?
Blame you for setting up my hopes high
Or blame me for believing the truth like lie
Or should I just blame the night?
The night for lasting just awhile.......
...
Don't change yourself for anyone
for if one day you wake & they are not there
the weight of you waiting
might be too much to bare

Stop saying you know who you are
Have you forgotten the beauty in the unknown
Stop keeping track unless you're going back
to that which you've outgrown

I still walk that trail you showed me
I call your name over the waters waves
I breathe more deeply, more freely
& allow the memories to return that time tries to make go away

When I said you were irreplaceable darling
it was one of the few times I told the brave truth
The rest of my honesty, was honestly
forcefully given to you

I hope you've learned to stop stomping on flowers
& take the advice of the wind
all things start
in the same place that they end

We say everyone leaves in the end. But what if they leave you in between. Suddenly. Abruptly. Gone.
It has only been a few hours and I already  miss you terribly. I love you and will always do.

We are the kids who demanded to be heard
Instead of being pitied
Who took matters into our own hands
When those above us didn’t seem to help

We are the kids
Who forgot to be kids
Because we were focused
On solving the problems
That shouldn’t be ours to solve
But we saw that those with power
Clearly weren’t going to use it

We are the kids that took action
So that you could save your thoughts and prayers
Because we saw those thoughts were gonna be needed
If you can’t see the need for change
And prayers are useless when the answer is already here

We are the kids who weren’t aloud to be sheltered
Because we were the targets
And when we were supposed to be calculating the various measurements
Of a circle
We were practicing barricading the doors
And discussing the fastest points of exit

We are the kids
Who had to turn on the news
And find out that 17 of us were dead

And 83 more of us have been gunned down since that day
Only just over 2 months ago
And that number has yet to stop growing

We are the kids
Who were afraid to walk into school
And now scan every classroom
For something to protect ourselves with
Because we are afraid
That we might be next

And then we were the kids
Who still had to fight to be listened to
Because a statement on piece of paper
Written over 200 years ago
Deserved more protection than our lives

And we are the kids
Who will make sure
We are the last of these kids

Have awareness
in life's pursuits
know the doors
that lead to fruit

A garden of lies
and wolves around
beware the desire
of material lusts

money, praise, holes and cars
millions, houses or vacation
Be wary of those who promise material gratification with their teachings.
