We are all murderers.
And you'd be a fool to claim you are not.
For you have taken life everyday,
Since the day you learned how good the steak tasted
or how the ants floated funny when you drown them in water
Now, you'll call me a hypocrite.
But I had my share of killings, too.
And I don't resent myself for that.
Because I understand that we are on top of the chain.
How we value only ourselves and willing to sacrifice
Everything around us to continue breathing.
That in our perspective, we are the unique beings
crafted by engineers of the universe to take care of this place.
A role only us can fill in.
That everything we do is for the greater good of this place and those who share it with us.
So I embraced it.
The truth that we are murderers
Because we are different from others.
Living things blessed by intelligence from the gods.
And we always put it into good use.
For the greater good, of course.
I tried so hard because I haven't made a poem these past couple of weeks. It turned out reaaaaaaaally bad. I won't delete this though to serve as a grim reminder for me to stop slacking off.
