I don't have a lot to offer
just myself, and this stone
you could make the hard ice softer
I don't want to face this cold alone
No roses are required they just wilt anyway
just spend time with me that is a gift that no one can take away
No fancy meal is needed
No standard cliché just for Valentines day
No  need to dress up
No need for a cup of wine
I just want to spend time with you
it don't matter what we do
A simple pizza and a movie or listening to a good tune
should  create some memories that will last way beyond
Valentine's day
No need to say be mine
You will find that the Valentine is already written in my heart
Replace yelling with laughter
And judgment with understanding
Replace hatred with kindness
And falling with standing

Replace hurting with helping
Lift up, don't push down
Replace insults with compliments
We can turn this around.

Replace bad with good
Replace fire with water
The world's hard enough
So why make it harder?

And before you say
You would if you could,
That there's just no hope..
No excuses; be the good.
reflects smiles
mirrors pains
its beauty beguiles
entertains

wakes up heart
opens door
transcends art
furthermore

swells in vein
its maddening flow
drops as rain
on parchment glow

once seeded within
grows deep root
makes you come clean
speak only truth

soul's inked beat
pearls dug from deep
in true spirit
have it worshipped.
Poetry is a spirit; they that would worship it must worship in spirit and in truth.
(E.M. Forster: The Celestial Omnibus)
