Times have changed, and that's a fact, and it's not always real kind
When you look back and compare what was, you see patterns ... are we blind

Look at what exists today, pay attention to the real
The real is now, it's not before, and sometimes not ideal

We should look back and learn from it, so we can change the model
Let's not repeat the stupid things, and go forward on full throttle....

Watching what is happening today and reading what happened yesterday sparked these words...

Light up another cigarette,
It's all I do since you left,
Hold a gun to my head,
No promises were ever kept.

Finish off another whiskey bottle,
Around my neck a rope will throttle,
Time doesn't heal things,
I wish I had you here to sing.

I keep your notes locked away;
For when I miss you the next day,
I'll read your words and sing your songs,
Then spark up another ****.

So what if these things are killing me?
I'm dying everyday that you're not with me,
I wanted a future with you,
But now all we have is history.
This poem is about a series of events that happened in my life, and how I "handled" them.
