The clay bird said to the caged bird, "There's this burning desire to fly and soar, but my clay heart chokes on the fear of finding my shattered pieces on the ground."
Savio Fonseca Jun 2023
We can pretend, We own the Woods
and stand Regal, like the Pine.
Gathering Fruits, Nuts and Honey.
While sipping on Red Wine.
With a Camping Tent as Shelter.
We can weave the branches for Our Bed.
Lay Our promises, on fallen Leaves
and hold on to them, Once they're Said.
The Stars can give Us Company.
As the Moon stays guard at Night.
Wild Kisses, can be Our Password.
As Passions flows thru each Bite.
At Midnight U may see your Lion,
Roaring himself in Bed.
Woods I find are a Romantic Place,
Where solemn vows can be Said.

A simple smile
Its all it takes
To send me to the moon
To look for the fox from Peru
And to melt the coldest of hearts
Anyone has ever seen

It’s been some time
Since we kissed the sun
And the clouds
Weep to bring us blessings
From above

In times of solitude
My restlessness grows
The more I miss you
The more I fall victim
From this never ending void

Paradoxes to send me
To the edge of the Universe
To never return
To never look back
To run away from the black hole
That is this solitude
In a world without you

two people
pulled together as one
from energies that combine
controlling the currents tides
the moon
and the sun

If I tried to write a "happy" poem,
I wonder what I'd say?
If the words that spilled upon the page
didn't convey any dismay.
Would it feel foreign to me,
As one who writes from a broken heart?
Or would the words uplift my soul,
could it be my new start?
What would I even write about,
the sun the moon or stars?
Or would I write about long ago,
Before my heart bore any scars?
I'm not sure how or when or why,
but I'd like to change my tone.
And start writing about what makes me smile,
instead of what makes me feel alone.
My Dear Poet Jun 2023
That day,
when I turned
and saw your eyes,
the sun grew in size
That kiss
upon your lips
exploded the stars
into shimmering
ships
Sailing away
to where
the 14 moons
of Neptune
were due
to rise

The silver moon
falls
from sight
as the rising tide
kisses
adjacent piers.

The cool morning
rests
over the gentle bay
as clouds
commute
covering the light of day.

Brown thrashers rhythmically
mimic
stolen song
as they
traverse
the canal.

Barefoot toes
roam
freely
frequenting familiar
footpaths.

Minute minnow mouths
toy
with the bait
bobbing
the cork.

Experienced hands
handle
seafood
adopting its scent
while the blue *****
boil
into crimson.

Afternoon showers
cool
the earth
as a mysterious moon
lowers
the tide.

Night
falls
again
in Mississippi.
Returning to Mississippi

Basking in strawberry moonlight
I look upon selene
And see your face
The air catches in my throat
I'm captivated by your grace
The thought of you
Infectious
It lingers in my mouth
Your taste
Terrifying and terrific
Terribly tantric
Tumultuous an tempting
This tempest
A torrent tearing down my walls
A Tsunami
Leaving bare
my soul
Is this true
Is it you
My goal...
For Ari
