Remember it’s temporary
embrace the beauty
find the fabulous.

Grey clouds gather plump and perfect above my crown
A moment of silence held sacred by the birds
A moment to settle before I am washed away

Rainfall rolls soft and supple from our mother sky
With gentle thanks do the leaves cup the sweet nectar
With ancient thirst the soil drinks her in

Dirt darkens wet and washed within our mother earth
Eyes open and breath rolls slow and low like thunder
Eyes close and senses gather up her scent

Full flowers sway sweetly beneath a rockabye breeze
Petals dance gracefully to the beat of each drip drop drop
Petals lace their fingers together and bow in prayer

Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning
and spread it over the fields
and into the faces of the tulips
and the nodding morning glories,
and into the windows of, even, the
miserable and crotchety -

best preacher that ever was,
dear star, that just happens
to be where you are in the universe
to keep us from ever-darkness,
to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light -
good morning, good morning, good morning,

Watch, now, how I start the day
in happiness, in kindness.
Hello and Good Morning!
: )
In my humble opinion, everything Mary Oliver has ever written is profound.  This is one of my favorites.

"to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light"
Seriously?  So, so good!

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
from “Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver
