Resolutions

Each new year
A new resolution is made
I will loose weight
I will be nice
No more drinking
No more anger
No more war
Yet here we are
Year 2016....
How many of us
Made these resolutions
Last year
The year before that
Or even before that?
Look, even now
Theres so much evil
So much anger
So much war
Noone sticks to their resolutions
They break just like empty promises
Made by every other man
To every other woman
Made to be broken
Just abit of fun
Resolutions are a way of saying
"Yes we are wrong"
"Yes we do wrong"
"We will not change"
Happy new year
The number has changed
But expect no more
Happy New Year

you can hear the flipping
of calendar pages, and the
clink of champagne glasses
the roar of flashing fireworks
and rustling of fabric under
randomly launched hugs&kisses;
what old acquaintance is there
where forgotten woes blend
into hopes of a soul resolved

The older we get,
The more chapters are added to our lives,
The buckets of tears of shed, the threads of tissue which have since dried
The broken hearts which are repairing without us realising,
The words we have uttered to others or ourselves which have gotten us through,
The pain we endure, only makes one stronger,
The smiles and laughs that have been shared both publically and privately keep us human.

There's 365 days in a year but a little goes a long way if you make the most of it and live life to the fullest, prosper it.

         That's what makes one the wisest, here's to another year!

I tasted a hint
of champagne
in your kisses,
as the clock
struck midnight,

as you carried
me into
the new year.

This is it
The only one

Everything between the rising moon
and the setting sun
is all you've got

It'd be a shame not
to make the best of it

It's a new year
What's done is done
Today is here

Move on.

This is the start of a brand new year,
The start of new beginning,
Of new friendships,
Of new trips and parties,
Of new accomplishments,
Of new lessons to be learned and taught.
