Rain is crying on my window
Happy tears!

Your chubby cheek rests on my arm
You constantly flicker your eyes
Your eyelashes tickle me gently
I can feel a butterfly flutter on me
A black and white butterfly

bones
Waiting for the sea she sits
writing with her fingertips
setting down herstory on the sand;

waiting, with a wistful eye
watching for the rising tide
wondering if stories can be drowned..

Your tiny fingers stretch out the corners of my lips
I shoot out a smile

I ask you "Who's your favourite"?
You pause for a second
Then you start thinking and search for an answer
And you say "You"
But you already lost me there when you paused
I thought your love for me had no clause
But no matter what, you are my only favourite

Two petite boats made from an old piece of paper are ready to swim
You eagerly watch as I drift them in

Its raining, its pouring
Our boats are sailing
Tiny ripples make the water a trampoline
But the boats manage not to dive in

Aye aye I am the captain
Quit drowning yourself in
For my son loves to see you sail
And I would love to see him smile

I am with you
But ALONE
Never felt so blank
