Why'd I walk into this room again?
Have ever you heard
   The crows sing sweetly?
A singing bird,
   They sing discreetly.

They caw to scoff
   And to berate you,—
To **** you off
   And agitate you.

I love science
But I wish I still wondered
why the sky is blue

I adore silence
but i wish innocence
can still be heard

In the serenity
I didn't choose
In the questions
i was forced to conclude
You are no longer
a child
innocent or forgiven.

Slower now,
dreams have taken flight
with butterflies
and *****
thrown beyond your reach.
No longer child-bright,
you stand in court
where age
grows upon the wall
and eats the air.

Your shadow lingers
frightened at the door
unconvinced
then bounds away
to chase a dream.
I am but
a sparrow
who has flown
through a forest
of darkness
only to come out
with ruffled feathers.
A brilliant man once told me
"Hard times come to all, but life remains worth living."

Judging eyes
look upon me
they know nothing
of my story
yet they judge what they see

Judging eyes
stare at me
criticizing my looks
my choices
my passion
my right to being free

Judging eyes
are a curse to me
they think they know me
I disagree

that metaphorical breath of fresh air
is a reality in fact this side of the open window
how sweet it is cutting through stale thinking
dispersing the smoke of a chain addicted dragon
