Already August

The wind does take on a nip

and the sky yellows
4:44 pm

The rippling heat
wriggles its way through the air -
sweat beads on my brow
ice water for the pup

I gaze into a smudged mirror.
Is that truly my reflection?
Or had I done a poor job cleaning the glass?
the road to self-love is a bumpy one

on the expressway,

speeding to get to your heart

love in the fast lane
haiku inspired by one of my favorite songs!
Our connection,
is a pale moon above
and stars that shine
they are yours as they are also mine,
we feel the grey of falling rain
the warmth of joy
and the chill of pain,
we live we love, we laugh and we die
with the same yellow sun
and the same blue sky

twenty years alive
i still don't know how to drive
yet i walk, and thrive
i also don't know how to swim! mom didn't teach me much. i miss the dirt and grass, when i take these concrete paths.

In San Francisco,
the air caresses your lungs
with the ocean cold
This haiku was inspired during my stay while celebrating 60 years of Grateful Dead!
