To Yearn For Stars
Leanna Miller Sep 2016
I long - for the stars in my sight...
These days are dull  - not like the night.
The night sky glistens with twinkles high above.
I yearn..
to fall with the sunset
and think of things I will never forget.....

Autumn
Leanna Miller Nov 2015
A gentle, gentle breeze
blows swiftly through the trees.

Leaves begin to swirl and fall.
Many autumn colors to enjoy and awe.

Apples to harvest from its trees.
Pumpkins a plenty to pick and please.

Blessings of Thanksgiving is a reason
for autumn to be a joyous season.

Drunken Love
Leanna Miller Oct 2015
I have drowned in the captivity of your eyes.
Eyes so mesmerizing like a sea of blue.

When the sun shines upon those eyes,
Its gold radiance gleam sparkles in that sea of blue.
The blue which hath drunken my soul.

This drink I taste is so refreshing,
It quenches my thirst for love.

This feeling I get when you stare at me,
Intoxicates my very soul, my well-being.

What a love this is this drunken feeling.

An evening after a sweet summer rain
Brings a provisions I cannot explain

A scent of after rain dew
Bring fulfillment to greenery anew

The sun in the west has set
An evening of renewal to never forget

Clouds break apart and wither away
There is clearness to the firmament, I say

The stars come and appear so bright
The calmness of the air feels so right

The coolness of a tranquil breeze
Puts my racing feelings at ease

Darkness has filled the sky, a dark blue
And twinkles of happiness, the stars are new

The summer stillness, the gentle wind
Sends me to God in which I depend.

Thunderstorm
Leanna Miller Oct 2015
A crackle, here and there
Lightning strikes in the sky beam a fanfare

A glorious concordance of a storm
A concert to perform

Loud drums pound and wind whistle sound
Lightning hits the ground

Thunder and wind
Keep me disciplined

The suddenness of a thundering roar
Keeps me on my toes waiting for the downpour

Punishing thunder yet waiting for the rain
So calming, I cannot explain

The storm is coy and I want to hear more
I am waiting for its loudest galore

Storm, lay out my burdens for me
So that I can go on with glee

You’re excitement keeps me going
The rain starts flowing

I begin to feel fine
No burdens to confine

A love grown to be so divine
Such a love to share with thine

Forever bound are our souls like two cranes
Eternally together our love remains

When a crane’s mate dies
It never seeks to find another for compromise

It’s like you and I
My love for you will never die
This is one of the poems I wrote back in 2007.

A certain touch, a gentle breeze
Is enough to bring my soul at ease
The star that shines so bright
Fills my heart with joy through the night
The thought of you comes into mind
My weary body starts to unwind
I start to think of yesterday
Wonder why it so fast, went away

Searching
Leanna Miller Oct 2015
The love that I knew, I wish I still had.
My soul is lost searching for feelings that are glad.
My heart was strong and beating anew.
I wish right now I was with you.

The Treading Heart
Leanna Miller Oct 2015
Oh, the strides of my soles so tired and weary. I remember the days so young and cheery. Love was anew and my heart did glow. It was the only thing I wanted to know.

Today looking back my heart is now cold, the one I love hurt me so bold.

I'm only a road of rocks that are broken, the one that's treaded along unspoken.

The path could be made to be so smooth, if only his crass heart would move.
