  Oct 2015 Rain in July
Sanjukta Nag
My snowball-like puppy barks like a bird,
Whenever that sparrow enters my window
Like a sudden sunray of winter.
She perches on a luminous spot
To sing him the sweetness of nature, that
She composed when dawn kissed her feathers.
He rhythmically stirs air with his thin white tail,
And concentrates ******* imitating
The morning song of little sparrow.
Days walk like this on my room
Resonating with their twittering symphony.
Now I think, maybe it's not only a music lesson
But a chapter of learning the secrecy of flying.
'Cause yesterday afternoon I dreamt,
My puppy flew out of the open window
With his two new glittering wings of sparrow,
Singing the brightest song of freedom.
I miss you so much, been awhile since you’ve left
Do you think of me?
I miss the way you talked to me
The way you take care of me

I often kiss your cheek
You love the way I lick your neck
But what happened?

Then…
You only left  for a day or two
And when you came back
I love the way you tell me
How you miss me so

But one day,
You bid goodbye
I can’t fully understand what you are saying
But I can’t forget your look that day
You hugged and dropped some tears on me

Until now, you never came back
You never would? Aren’t you?

Whenever someone is opening our gate
How I wished that it was you
But there was no you
I miss you really
I’m sick right now
Feeling I have a few days left
Aren’t you coming back?

Your best friend,
Doggy Browny

Victoria Ruth
Red ink on feathers and stories unwritten
Young kids uneasy and struggling to fit in
Tigers without stripes and birds without wings
These are a few of life’s terrible things

Old Fading sunsets and chased broken dreams
Thick black smoke and slightly shattered schemes
Evil devils who scream at the angle who sings
These are a few of life’s terrible things

Overdose and dying in drunken car crashes
Bottles of champagne and cigarette ashes
Chess without pieces and queens without kings
These are a few of life’s terrible things

When the clouds darken,
When the rain falls,
When I’m feeling low
I simply remember life’s terrible things
Like my shaky hands and love that still stings
…and then I don’t feel so good
play on these are a few of my favorite things
Rain in July Oct 2015
Clutters of broken emotions
Floating on the salty sea of tears
My heart is a shipwreck.
