irinia
today
a strange milky light
rolling over the hills
like a blinding blanket
I caressed naked branches
their fragility a statement
plum trees apple trees
peach trees cherry trees
and I a witness
to the dignity with which
they carry their wounds
I love trees because
their shadow is not full
of bitterness.
perhaps
they know how to cry
for the absence of wonder

you see
much is going on
beyond words:
all of me and
this tree
feel
there is a depth
in everything

speak to me like the sea, and
i did speak to you like the sea, but
when i opened my eyes and looked better
you were not  there anymore

You give me ease
but my list of problems don't end

You give me joy
but my amount of sadness doesn't change

it is crazy, the technology
Everything is super speed,
Still no time to rest or sleep.

This me is not the me
Me wishes me would be
I am not the I
I'd hoped I'd be, but why?

Not knowing where you’re going
Not knowing what you’re owing
Makes life tough
Thought you’d made a choice
Believed fate heard your voice
It’s not enough
Life’s become a test
Not knowing where you’re going
Not knowing if you’re owing
Never able to rest
Did you fail the test?
You ask the question
There is a suggestion
Of mediocrity in your thoughts
Endless shoulds and oughts
The fate of human beings
Not trusting, never seeing
Troubles, fleeting glory
It’s a never ending story
