Cavemen knew better
Than to take stars for granted
They danced for their light
He would mean nothing to me
He would no longer be held hostage in my heart.
He would be prisoner to pen and paper.
       Easily disposable
   Easily replaceable

Night draws to a close
The moon kisses me
Goodnight
Peeking through the blinds

Is not against
But with your own

I'm really sorry but I have to die.
It's been fun,
I was nice and high,
But now that I've
Come crashing down,
There's no other option but to let the ground
Embrace me like a wretched worm.
I lit the match.
It's time to burn.

Tonight, let's take a respite from the kids, get all dressed up, and head for the local grocery store.

We can even wear matching masks, take turns pushing the cart, and steal Kisses from the candy aisle.

You're on top of my shopping list, little lady, along with the melons and a case of toilet paper.

It may not be dinner or a movie, but it has its own romantic aura of about six feet in diameter.

Take my gloved hand & let's dance away at the checkout line, mask-to-mask. It's love in the time of COVID-19.
See Mrs. Timetable's "Grocery Store Date Night Morning After" poem.

Darling
I save all my snores
And cereal milk
Just for you
Inside joke to Mrs. Timetable.
