Let thy soul into the darkness delve,
Where thou looses all thyself, ...Where;
slithering serpents slay so silent,
Like death's deadly scythe.

Deranged demon's deathly snare
Snatching people, unaware,
With such sweet nectar they thou compel,
So that willingly, thy soul thou sell.

A wolf in sheep's skin,
Juggling the lives of men's kin,
As if they were nothing,
but a game to win.
it is unwise to avoid certainty
i've turned silent for landscapes
made for deprived mothers
queens to deafening men
lost of their purposes
why have they hidden her crown ?

I have your legs
but we're running such antithetical courses
Mother, I miss you but I cannot come home
I gain weight
I lose sleep
there are no lovers left for me
the wind has an ancient distaste now
for all the nights I exhaled complacency
I want to sleep with my door open
I can trust anything under a Libra moon
but never another repeated phrase
me, you
the first place I swam, the first meal
this is trust
you are love

I never learned to love mountains
but I was born with memories of them
I was born in Florida

I've picked apart women that
didn't deserve or earn it
like petals
she loves me
she loves me not
she loves me

when did I learn to grasp ?
to keep
we should be taught instead to let go
before we are learned to catch
so we aren't holding on so tightly

I strangled myself
I learned quickly to let go
& became grateful of deep-breaths
weary of knots
weary of nots

I refuse to be my own worst enemy
I am all that is mine. all that I find is fleeting. eventually all things will lift, just as they will be dropped or put down
to keep, ha !
walk into my room
I have nothing
it is easier to breathe like this
I don't like being alone with shadows

we are all royal
skin and salt
iron and decay
bone over brain
over-thinking our day
we are alive
we are afraid
we are okay
we are okay
we are

I saw her standing in line fancying a magazine-
penniless as she was and buying food.
She had to use "the stamps", the mark of the poor.
She was as pretty a thing as I'd ever seen.
Her half-done hair and hand-me-down dress
were as beautiful as any model's straightway from Bloomingdale's.
Our eyes met, but I turned away...
My eyes unworthy to behold the gaze of the impoverished princess.

I remember the way you used to look at me, your laugh even when what I said wasn't ever really that funny. You looked at me as if I had something, something that you could never grasp, But something you were desperate to reach.

You told me countless times you wanted to have me forever and that I was the only one you'd ever love. And like every other stupid and young girl in the world at some point in her life, I told you the same thing back without delay...and meant it.

But I look back now on what was and wonder if it was ever really me that you wanted.  And I wonder what exactly you were planning to love till the end of your life.
It's funny, I was not planning to change my mind but apparently you were.

It's been 17 months and the run-ins with the family are shorter. The awkward hellos are avoided. The smell of you on your many shirts and sweatshirts is gone. The texts that reek desperation and regret have stopped.  You not-so-simply aren't what you were a year and a half ago.

'M'... And there it is, the countless amount of times I've typed in your name to get a glimpse of your life from the outside now leaves me crippled because I only have to type one letter for it all come flooding back.

The nights spent crying, the days I've spent wondering, the lyrics, the poems, the books I've spent time analyzing and the dreams from which I've woken up from where the faint but so real sound of your voice says "I'm ready to try again." Though these are all things that I thought would push me to death, I thank you.

These are times in which I found hope in hopelessness. Because as great as it was and as much as I wanted you back. I know now there's so much more out there, so much you lacked.

If suffering was what it took to find what was meant to be. Put me through the seering pain a thousand times over again because I know I can finally breathe and be truly happy.

Sure, the hurt comes back to sting here and there, but I know now my hope is found in someone even greater than you or I are truly aware.

I'd prefer to not ever wake up instead.
Please God, won't you please strike me dead.
I've given you plenty of reason;
we've never been friends.
I can't take it anymore.
Let this be the end.
In short, not good
2015, April 19

I see angels crying
overwhelmed by joy
as they bask in the glow
of my memories

I see demons dancing
trapped in obscure visions
bodies swaying to the rhythm
of my sorrow

I see life as it is
not as it should be
all is well

I met you
When I was
At a very strange stage
Of my life
All the faces had lost their identity
And were nothing but a blur
Till they blended into the background
Gone unnoticed
The same way they had come
And you were just the same
Among the dead memories and the ashes left
You were just one of the many's
Till on a cold night
I saw the spark you were giving
You were reaching out for me
I wondered why
I was curious where this might lead
I was the cold leaf
That then remained wet on the ground
Because it is a nature's rule
What goes up
Must witness a  scary down
I was denying the law of gravities
Being caressed by the wind
Till a thunderstorm came
And shook the very root
Of my being
And it was during that descent I realised
The high is never worth
The fall that follows
But you reminded me of the smell of spring
I never thought I would live to feel
I decided to watch from a distance
While you kept closing in on me
Your eyes penetrating through
Layers I had made
Not quite sure if they were there for my benefit
Or to bury me alive
I probed and poked to make sure
You were not another trick
Of this devious vile
We call life
Your steps, never hesitating,
I warned you
Your sparks will have no effect
On a leaf soaked in depression
You picked me up
Wiped the traces of the rain
The rain
I thought will never end
And held me in your palm
Like I was not dirt..
But a flower you found
In a field of weeds
Like I was the most precious thing
You had come across
One's garbage, another's gold
But I don't want to go high
Oh no please not another fall
But i like
The gentle touch of yours
Treating me with care
When every thing else is just friction
I like the warmth you radiate
When all I have been doing
Is shiver alone in the cold
I wonder if you can see
I'm trying my best not to lean further
Just closest I can get
Without actually touching
Cause one fine day
You'll see
I'm not a flower
But a drenched leaf
I hope you don't drop me
When the realisation comes
Creeping in
This is for a friend of mine who has been very, very nice to me. It is for you. :)

PS: I don't know what this actually is haha I don't usually write w a person on my mind but this time I did.
