Finite
nick armbrister Feb 2020
There's a way and will to this world
No matter how twisted or slow or fast
There's a finite intelligence there
Guiding me to places known or unknown
Here or there it doesn't matter
The result is the same
A journey some place else
We are here just now and future
We will be taken to new places
For further experiences in this life
They will be good or bad or indifferent

It’s August... (by Mel)

Its August
When the wind blows
My hair, my smile off my face, my eyes full of sand
And my dress comes flying over my head,
I stand
In the middle of the race
Of dust coming from all over the place.
Its Misery
When the wind knocks
On the door, opens it without invitation
And enters without hesitation
My mood overflows with desperation
My mind with determination
To stop this irritation
This never-ending, awful sensation-
This winds illustration
Of my worst humiliation
Its motivation to tear me apart
It pulls at me, but then pushes me away,
Again!
Its gladness
When he finally leaves
This unwelcome guest, to tease
Yet another until
She's driven to madness too.
Its surprise
When he returns once more
And rushes out to deform a helpless tree
Whatever can the reason
For such, strange behaviour be?
Like a child he throws a tantrum,
But what can one do?
To please this friendless wind?
And comfort it too?
Its peace when he eventually ceases
To anger me.
"Take me or leave"
He softly whispers through
The leaves in the trees,
As he slowly leaves
I can breathe once again.
Its regret
That fills my heart
What can I ever miss about
That spiteful one that grabs and rips you
Apart?
Its sadness
That fills my soul
My agitated friend is gone
And I am, once again,
Alone!

OUT 3

So I had to be with you after watching Lost in Space,

it was the ****** robot and it having a heart.

Away to the pub I hurried to be with you

and to banish my loneliness.

Sadly it wasn’t to be as Jo stole your attention

and you ignored me.

So I went home, lonely and upset,

as other eyes sought you and took note.

Of Ivory and Glass
What do I care about politics and politicians for?
They live in their Ivory Towers and Glass Houses.
Making up their **** laws to rule over me.
And should I care about the rest of you?

The other common man and woman on the street.
Who are also ruled over by them.
I don’t tend to care for my fellow town’s folk.
They’re so rude and nasty to me.

But I don’t hate them like I do our leaders.
It’s different, being rude is better than a corrupt leader.
Those unscrupulous dictators have no morals.
They sell their souls to the dollar and for war.

Satisfying their own big egos with fake gains.
Putting spin on it to win us over by lies.
For the meek it works but not for me.
I’m neither a fighter nor activist.

I’m just me and I know the difference a mile off.
Someone who steals bread for their family is innocent.
A bent politician who steals for graft is guilty.
Which would you execute?
