Self degradation and self pity
Are like ugly worn out clothes
They don't look good on anybody
And they keep people from seeing
Their true potential

Love is universal, they say.
Then why does a kiss incite such a riot?
How does one live their life,
When they're too busy not getting killed by media or by society?

Tired of being a label, tired of being shunned,
Tired of seeing the numbers increase.
There go the people trying not to react to the Orlando news,
Because if you're not straight, you're just one of "those" people to them.

America is a land of opportunity, a land of hope,
Judging from the events, I guess that's true only if you're straight.
How do you display your Pride,
If you're playing a game of Truth or Die?

If this is the perfect life, then I do not want it,
Because apparently I would be just a statistic.

Getting over her is like
An addict
White knuckling their way
Through recovery.
Just when you think you're better
You get a whiff,
A glimpse,
A fleeting memory that
Breaks you and
You relapse,
Only to start again.

The children covet.
No longer pure.
There is a feeling.
An intimate feeling.
To grip anything breathing and just ******
the pain into oblivion.
Not love but lust.
Feelings are too much.
The children can run carelessly.
Playing with whomever is near.
Whether it's forceful or submissive.
All have been warned.

Slick slits for eyes,
When you tell your lies.
That's why everyone around you dies.
The unwelcome sounds
Of choking from the inside.
Out.
Get out of my mind.
Find solice in time.
Breathing lessons for beginners.
*** lessons for sinners.
Suicide lessons for quitters.
Thinking lessons in life will make you all winners.
Admiring strength
In surety.
Of knowing who you are.
Where you want to go.
What you want to be.
Some die before they're able to achieve.
Goals
And gratitude.
Thanking their gods for judgement.
Unable to be who you want to be.
Stand up and set yourself free.
