As the little minds drift off to sleep with a strife,
the unsung heroes of the night come to life.
Protection from the succubus of the eventide,
using their powers of whim with a glide.
Stitched smiles and button eyes defend the adolescents
under the shine of crescents.
While the nightmares attempt to emerge,
the guardians uphold with a surge.
Unable to pirate their minds,
they dissipate with a wind.
The unsung heroes take their win with a fain,
therefore the children of the world are safe again.
A whimsical poem about teddy bears. I felt as if I didn't have enough fun poems in my book, so I wrote one.
There once was a stye in my eye
I picked it off
and did not cry
Too many too white apes
They are all dressed up as
Superior genetic imbeciles

Never should be born
Never should be fed
Die fast and eternally
Eat peppermint flesh
Tell me all the stories
Die in a velvet crash
(Ode to Donald Trump)
perfect balance
....
what is it we know?
what shall we do?
.....
the party is over
___
past the vain hope of happiness
is pure bliss
and joy
(only this)
......

perfect balance
tai chi sword dance
warrior song
.......
past the vain party
__

...we know...
we do what we must
........
we die and are reborn
once again

it is i
awaits you there
Dawn's ceremony.
Wet grass tickling bare feet.
Wave away the night.

fail. i used to
brush my
hair find
tangles, now i just
let them
break. i let them

if only my father
is here he will say
no. he won't say
anything i
can imagine. i can't
be
i can't
be.
i don't know how to
talk. the
ability has left
my vocal fold, it has
gone to somewhere better
not here. it has gone
to the place
it's recognized where
it's heard
not here.
not here. my knees
swell i am oversized
in a small present
box for
pranks. pranks. pranks.
i get bored
bored bored boring.
