raindrops fall in winter
smoke greys out the sky
an old bear curls up
he's laying down to die
but he hibernates for winter
gathering all his strength
she'll brave this darkened time
and go on in life at length

The world just winked at me
When the trees turned white
And the air turned blue
But my nose stayed red
You're glowing too
My breath evaporates
In a cloud of emptiness
Like the thoughts in my head
Baby, we're a mess
But the world is smiling at us
A poem every day

she wears emerald in the summertime
and winks at the boys in the park
who stare at her skirt riding up her thigh
she hangs from trees until it grows dark

never minding the voices that float
into her ears from the sidewalk
of the empty kindness of ghosts
hopelessly trying to fill themselves up

when the moon graces the sky and shines
she counts her blessings by its dim light
there’s trees and air and flowers alive
she catches them swelling in her sight

the moon composes a secret melody
the flowers play guitars if you listen closely
her head nods along until it drifts off
and she turns around to give them a hug

it’s been a while since i
last held your breath
close to my heart
and it’s been a while since you

took off to depart
on a ship with no air
you shout out from your own
layer of the atmosphere

maybe there’s birds where
the wind carries burdens
maybe the pressure
rolls off their backs with care

but precious moments
leak from my brain
and i have no way to focus
but to stare at the stains

A star in the sky, the moon is full
A tear in my eye; I feel her pull
When she rises my heart is in tune
Itinerant moon her energy grows
The swell of the tide, the thrill of the ride
Beckons me on to be by her side
Sometimes the thrill is too much to bear
She is high in the sky I want to be there
At one with the moon, I can’t let her go
As days go by the moon she must die
Sinking into emotionless sea
Waiting for rebirth, tied to the Earth
I die a little each time she is low
Next time she will take me ....
Next time I will go

let me lay a kiss upon your temple

count your freckles, soft skin so simple
short one i found in an old journal
