If you leave me
All the hangers will get tangled in the closet.
It won’t matter;  all my clothes will be on the floor.

If you leave me
The cheese in the refrigerator will turn green.
And the milk will soon be far too thick to pour.

If you leave me
The remote will only tune in somber shows.
That will be OK;  I’ll have forgotten how to laugh.

If you leave me
Dust bunnies will build a hutch beneath the bed
Where one forgotten slipper hides that I will never move.

If you leave me
The sun will shine on everything that’s not within my view.
I won’t mind;  my sunglasses will fool everyone but me.

If you leave me
Hummingbirds won’t visit the back garden any more
They’ll be blind to the red juice in the feeder.

If you leave me
I will build a house of memory and grief
And move myself inside and lock the door

Don't know where this came from.  Nobody is leaving anybody here.

I saw disappointment
In her eyes,

I could see
her heart sink,

She couldn't take in
another lie,

But honest
wasn't something
he could be,
.
Changing her disguise,
lover in liquid lapis,
**** wearing turquoise,
blending serene, frozen,
collecting flirtations,
in green emeralds,
feeding on innocence,
emotion camouflaged,
sacrificed phrases melting,
****** hot tears, crimson,
return to the silence,
and decriminalise sentiment.

Hope
Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.
sweetgrass encasing your soul
salvaged by streetwalkers barren as the road we came on
we broke the speed limit for pedestrians
as ****** equestrians chased our shadows home
joking, we laughed at the bones that framed our photographs
i see elephants in your tone
honorary delegates to the symphony’s throne
violins voicing interludes that are out of tune with young mermaids
who create splashing inversions upon musical modes
your composition sheets hold my soul in throes of solitude
resplendent hues on the emptiness of nocturnes, etudes and poems
Look at me
I've gone far
All the way
to the bottom
I cannot fathom
going much farther
down, down down

Look at me
I took the pill
I got free
Or so called
I keep headin south
make momma proud

Look at me
I am a soldier
A soldier of life
The war is here
Got to win the battles
But mostly the war

Look at me
Everyone wants money
so you owe
And you're never complete
Always in chains
From your head to your feet

Look at me
I'm still looking
For things I need
on all levels
My heart bleeds
And it swells

Look at me
I need freedom
I need a world
That doesn't judge
I need a realm
that totally loves
