You caress my skin and tell me tales of your day
I laugh and pray that everything will stay this way
I then start thinking about my normal life and your face flickers between what is real and what is strife

I will miss you when I wake up.

I know you kind of cared
katemu Mar 2015
You were never there for me but now you're there for her

When I'm looking through the albums its never you that's there
It makes me wonder what I ever did wrong
Did you think about your little girl or did you only think about the bills?

I waited for you at ballet plays but yet you never came
You've never missed hers but you did all of mine
Did you not want to see me or did you just not have the time?
Sometimes when I think of you I cry myself to sleep or sometimes I'm just waiting for my cellphone to go 'beep'
But waiting for your phone call is like waiting for the snow

And sometimes a girl just needs her dad when she's got nowhere else to go.

eyes as bright
katemu Aug 2014
I love watching the stars
Imagining a whole world of my own
How many of those amazing bright lights are dead to their neighbors?
Yet we are so far we cannot even see the biggest detail of all.
How long ago did their lights stop giving a spectral glow?

Is there a world beyond this earth
Somewhere up there
Where I get lost once the sun lowers down
Giving light to the moon
Giving way for the stars
Giving me new daydreams

Ones where my dreams always come true
Where my mind can wonder through all the possibilities

Daydreams where my eyes glow as bright as those stars once did
