Just another shot of Whiskey
Happiness in a bottle they say
Or do I say?
When do the lines of happiness
And the cracks of depression
Blend together
When do you look in the mirror
And see who you have been lately
You see who you pretend to be
But on the inside you're in agony
But you're also silent, colorless, blind
Fumbling through life feigning
Who you once were
Who you take a shot and pray to
Any spirit who will listen
To be once again
I need to stop being so dramatic... *sigh*
Remember when you'd hug me goodbye and the words 'I love you' escaped my mouth like my body knew you meant more than I would ever let myself know. Remember when I wrapped myself up in smoke like I wrapped myself up in everyone's goodbyes because holding on to something, even when it kills you, is easier than letting go. Remember when you pulled me in closer and every will of my being screamed to push you away and keep walking, but every tiny nerve craved your hands around my waist and the temptation to stay when it's all so wrong is too much. In all reality's I'm just too scared of the 'what ifs' that'll haunt my head once we're through because if we tried long enough we could be more than something great. Remember the way my lips moved and the way my fingers ran down your neck as if every muscle in my body needed you to know, wanted you to know, that I love you more than I could let my voice admit.
She likes fashion and interviews. I like getting lost.
Sometimes she grabs my bulge,
as she drinks from an aluminum flask.
She told me to rhyme something with 'flask'.
I said, "Fine. In your life, you've been wearing a mask.
But I can see. And you can see. They can't see.
That you are a detached, blond doll
and your back is against the wall,
as I kiss your neck until you're dead."
She said to rhyme something with 'dead'.
I said, "Fine. You ******* in my head.
And it's quarrelsome
that they don't see that you're numb.
I'd pull on your lip, with my teeth.
Dig my hand between your legs.
Just to make you feel. Just to make you feel.
And I study your hairbrush
to see that there are too much
strands of memories from melodies
that lay dormant in ballrooms
and scented kisses
that drip of the misses
in your life and mine."
She said **** me with your words.
I refused because I'd rather watch her bloom
in my dreams than the seams of
a fiber noose that rings loose
the bell in your neck
that sounds until birds fly
and we die-
You look at me,
"Home."
I was laying in your bed
waiting for you to come jump in
I put on some music, of course my favorite song
wondering what was taking you so long
finally you walk through the door
and I couldn't wait to kiss you more.
you slowly walk over, but instead of laying on your bed
you grabbed my hand instead.
you pulled me in close and we started to dance
which I swear to god, put me in a trance.
Our song came on and you whispered every word in my ear
soft enough for just me to hear.
Your hands on my hips, mine in your hair
that's when I knew, we had something rare.
We danced and danced, you spun me around and dipped me down
We were holding each other so close, as if we would never let go.
In those moments, we were infinite
I wish we had never finished.
When the song was over, you kissed my lips.
Oh god did you kiss my lips. you kissed me like you were suffocating and I was the only air you needed.
you picked me up and layed me on your bed.
you kissed my forehead and made your way to my neck.
You found my ear and whispered slowly "I'm in love with you."
I know this poem is ****** but this was the best night of my life
